Callie's POV
People look at each other differently right after something bad happens. I don't know how to explain it but it's like there is a mutual agreement to be sympathetic to everyone. Even Malfoy stayed quiet when I passed him on the train, not making fun of me like he usually did. When I sat in an empty cabin, waiting for Ivy to come accompany me, I did not think that I would be joined by none other than Harry Potter.
He lingers in the doorway for a minute, looking like he is trying to come up with something to say.
I stand and walk towards him.
"You're okay." I whisper, looking him up and down.
He nods, still not saying anything.
All of a sudden, he pulls me into a hug. I cannot help but smile and hug him back, wrapping my arms tightly around him.
"I cannot believe I have a sister. I can't believe I have family." He whispers. He sound like he is close to crying.I hug him closer and we just stand there for a second.
All of a sudden, we hear someone clear their throat. We both turn to the cabin door to see Ivy standing there, smiling. I roll my eyes at her and she smiles more.
"Hello," Harry starts, "I'm-"
"Harry Potter. Do you think I live under a rock?"
Ivy finishes for him and Harry blushes a little.
"Sorry I-"
"Don't worry about it, mate. Ivy is just such the charmer."
Ivy laughs and puts an arm around Harry's shoulders.
"Welcome to the family bro."Harry's POV
When I am done talking to Ivy and Callie, I walk back to my cabin. Ron and Hermione are arguing about how to say some new spell Hermione has dug up, a tradition they seem to follow every year.I cannot help but laugh when Ron butchers the spell's name.
"I think you're actually getting worse at this, mate." I say as I sit down.
Ron rolls his eyes but smirks. I know the only reason he bothers is so Hermione will stop nagging him and actually talk to him.
"Well, we can't all be as amazing as the chosen one."
I do a fake bow and Hermione chuckles.
"So Harry," Hermione starts, looking at me expectantly, "How did it go? Did you meet your sister? When can we meet her?"
"Yeah! I want to meet her. Me being your best mate and all. I should be the first to meet her!" Ron chime in, which only starts another argument about who should be the first to meet my sister.Ivy's POV
When Harry leaves, we both slump down on opposite sides of the cabin. I pull out my phone from my coat pocket and see a text from Alice. It read,
Miss you already. Don't forget to message me when you get to school.
Xoxo, Alice.
I can't help but smile as I read it.
I look over to see Callie reading a potions manual.
"Has Jasper texted?"
I ask, curious.
"I honestly have no idea.I'll check after this chapter." Is her answer.
I roll my eyes and laugh, knowing that no guy was going to stop Callie Evans-Swan from reading a good book.
