"Oppa.." Chorong said as soon as she entered Chanyeol's office. Hearing the latter's voice, Chanyeol abruptly stood up from his seat and walked towards the crying Chorong. Opening his arms wide open, Chanyeol hugged Chorong as she continued to let her tears out.
"Hey, it'll be alright.." Chanyeol said as he rubbed Chorong's back and sighed. He never expected Chorong to be that hurt. Yes, he knew she likes his cousin but never did he expected for Chorong to cry because of Jimin like this. Surely, she doesn't just like him it was more than that.
It was something complex and profound.
"I guess this is karma." Chorong said, trying her best not to let those sobs stop her from speaking. "I played with many people's hearts and made them cry, now it's my turn." Chorong said with a bitter chuckle in the end making Chanyeol frown.
"Hey, that man just needs some time. He's scarred Chorong, and even when it's been years, he's not healed yet." Chanyeol said, he knew Jimin just needs some push. Something that would wake him up from his fears.
"I just.." Chorong said stopping because of her hard sobs. "Want to know if he feels the same."
"I'm in no place to tell you anything but Chorong, trust me. He'll come around sooner or later, just give him some time. He's shocked." Chanyeol said with Chorong still in his arms. "Imagine, the person who just became your friend a few days likes you." Chanyeol said with a chuckle and Chorong lightly pushed him away.
"You're making me feel worse, oppa." Chorong said while glaring at the man before letting out a small chuckle. "See?" Chanyeol said as he helped Chorong wipe her tears away. "How about you come with me later, invite Sunny and your other friends later." Chanyeol said and Chorong raised her brows. "What are we going to do?" Chorong asked.
"Let's go and have some colleague's dinner at the food tent at the park nearby here. My treat." Chanyeol said with a grin and Chorong raised her brows. "You'll let me drink?" Chorong asked and Chanyeol shrugged his shoulders. "It's after work hours, so I think you can." He said with a smug grin and Chorong glared at him before shaking her head.
"Okay, that sounds good to me. I think I might need a few bottles anyways." Chorong said and Chanyeol chuckled before nodding his head. "Sure, let me know if you're out. I'll leave early today so I'll just wait for you there." Chanyeol said and Chorong nodded her head before making her way towards the door.
"Oppa." Chorong called right after she managed to twist the knob and open the door. "What is it?" Chanyeol asked.
"You're the coolest boss I know." Chorong said and Chanyeol chuckled. "Don't flatter me, now shoo. You have a recording to do." Chanyeol said and Chorong nodded her head as she stepped out of Chanyeol's office.
Later that afternoon...
"Hyung, what are we even doing in this place?" Jimin said as soon as he looked around the food tent and cringed when he saw other office employees eating and drinking there. "What? Can't I treat my troubled cousin out?" Chanyeol asked before filling Jimin's glass with another shot of soju. Jimin frowned.
"For the hundredth time, I'm not troubled hyung and stop filling my glass. You know I don't drink." Jimin said snatching the glass away from Chanyeol making the latter frown. "You're no fun." He said and was about to grab the bottle when Jimin stood up.
"I need to get going hyung, if you need company. Call someone else. "Jimin said and was about to leave when Chorong, Sunny, Chanyeol and the interns came. Jimin flexed his jaw as he clenched his fist when he saw Chorong there, she looked surprised.
"Oppa.. what.." Chorong trailed while looking back and forth to Chanyeol and his cousin. "Oh, the more the merrier." He said with a grin before standing up and yanking Jimin's wrist down making the shocked Jimin sit again.
"Come on, take a seat." Chanyeol said as he motioned the long table and everyone except Chorong scrambled to their seats leaving the spot next to Jimin empty. "Take a seat, Chorong." Chanyeol said and Chorong can't do anything but to let out a sigh and take the spot beside him.
"Perfect." Chanyeol said as soon as Chorong settled making both of the two's faces red in an instant.
"I'm going." Jimin said as he pushed himself up again but Chanyeol managed to stand up before him managing to press his cousin down back on his seat again. Jimin can't do anything but to sigh, he wanted to shout right in front of his cousin's face but then he remembered that he needs to keep an image to his colleagues.
"You're not going anywhere until you loosen up and have some fun." Chanyeol said going back to his seat again as he called the old lady for their orders.
Two hours later..
"Oppa, can I excuse myself?" Sunny asked as she started picking up her things below the table filled with drinks and food. "Why?" Chanyeol asked and Sunny smiled apologetically before speaking. "My mom called, she said she needs me home today." Sunny said Chanyeol smiled before nodding his head not forgetting to give a glance at the slowly getting drunk, Chorong. "Okay then." Chanyeol said with a smile. "Oppa, I'll excuse myself too. I need to go home and maybe catching a cab with Sunny would be good." Chorong said with her slurred speech.
"Yah, didn't you hear me? I'm. Coming. Home." Sunny said and Chorong pouted as she filled her glass another alcohol again before drinking it in one go. Jimin on the other hand winced by the sight, because unlike Chorong, he's not drunk.
He didn't even touch the bottle of soju unless he needs to pass it along the table.
"Alright." She said as she closed her eyes and shook her head. "I'll go! Bye everyone!" Sunny said as she dashed out of the food tent leaving the others. Not long enough, one of the intern's phone rang. It was Wonwoo's.
"Hyung, I need to go home. My mother called." Wonwoo said as he pocketed his phone and Chanyeol smiled as he nodded his head before turning his attention to the other two interns. "Are you two going too?" Chanyeol asked.
Irene gave Mingyu a glance before nodding her head.
"I think we should, we're not really allowed to stay outside late." Irene said with an apologetic smile and Chanyeol dismissed it with his hand. "It's alright, you're my interns. My responsibility." Chanyeol said as he stood up and fished his wallet out of his pocket before throwing some bills on the table.
"I'll drive you three home." He said but before Jimin can even react, Chanyeol stood up. "I'll go with you hyung." He said before taking his bag and dashing out to the free space outside the food tent where Chanyeol's car is parked.
"What the hell is this? Are you ganging up on us?" Jimin said angrily as soon as he stood up when he noticed that it was only him and Chorong being left behind. By the loudness of his voice, Jimin successfully gained the attention of some of the customers. Chorong on the other hand doesn't even know what's happening because of her drunk state.
"No." Chanyeol answered flatly.
"Screw this." Jimin muttered under his breath but before he can even react again, Chanyeol spoke up. "It's up to your choice now Jimin. We're not ganging up on you or anything, if you want to leave Chorong here then leave her here." Chanyeol answered with a hint of annoyance in his voice and Jimin knew that his cousin was daring him.
But he's not going to take that dare, his mind's too clouded.
He can't do another mistake nor make another regret.
Chanyeol spoke up again.
"Just don't make her one of your mistakes."
