Chapter 13: Wow what a crazy old lady

"Mom, can I use my skip day? I have so much homework and Scott won't leave me alone." I said.

It's true. Carly and Spencer brought me my schoolwork, and it's sitting in a tower beside my desk, untouched. I would have started it, and I could have finished it. I was just to upset. Stupid feelings.

"I guess." Mom said while placing her empty coffee mug in the dishwasher.

"Thanks." I said.

She grabbed her purse and slipped on her shoes. "I have two people going into surgery today. Ill be back late. I love you." She said.

"I love you to." I said. She waved then walked outside. I heard the engine  to her car start, then I heard her driving away. My Dad came into the kitchen and poured him some coffee.

"Skip day?" He asked. I nodded. "Don't leave the house unless you're going to the store, okay?" He ordered. I nodded. He patted my bed head, and walked out the door.

I finished my oatmeal and fruit before going back to my room. I stayed in my pyjamas, but brushed my hair. I sat in the chair to my desk, and started on my first subject- Algebra. Gross, I hate math.

I finished all of my homework by eleven. Goodness, what a relief. I started playing with Pricklepants through the jail like bars that refrain him from escaping. I laughed. Pricklepants you are under arrest for..... Something criminal. I laughed harder.

There was a knock on my door. "What's so funny?" Brendan asked. I looked over at Pricklepants. He wouldn't get it. I waved it off. "What brings you to my heavenly abode?" I asked.

"Well, you didn't come to school." He said.

"Oh my gosh, can I say deja vu? I've had this conversation before. Who was....... Oh! Tyler! It was with Tyler!" I said.

Brendan gave me a curious glance. "When did you and Tyler have this conversation?" He asked.

"Last week? Yeah, last week, when I was sick." I said.

Brendan nodded, then sat next to me on the floor. He laid his head in between my neck and shoulder. Why did he do that? After I admitted my crush on him last night, he froze up. I told him to leave and he did. He doesn't like me, so why is he here?

He pulled me into his lap. I looked up at him. "Ashi, I like you too. I like you a lot more than I intended. I know what I did last night was not convincing, but give me today. Ill show how important you are to me. Please." He said.

I was flabbergasted. I searched his face for any sign of silliness. Was he joking? I guess Ill find out. Unable to form words, I nodded.

He smiled his award winning smile. "Where do you want to go?" He asked.

"I uh, I can't leave the house. Dad's orders." I said.

Brendan's face fell for a second before he smirked. "Then we will stay here all day. Come on." He said.

We are in the den, watching movies. I found out that his favorite Disney Movie is Mulan. After we watched both Mulans, we watched Beauty and the Beast. I remembered my nickname for him in the middle of the movie.

"Beast!" I yelled out. Brendan looked at me curiously. "So you remember that night I went to talk to Scott?" I waited for him to nod. "We came up with Disney characters we were like, and a few days ago I went to Maleigha's burial site and talked to her. I told her you were the Beast." I said.
