A/N: I think I've decided that I'm going to make this series a Malec oneshot series so after this one goes up, I'll change it to a Malec based one and edit the stories to be Malec central unless their entire cast based.

Anyway, above we've got Only the Beginning of the Adventure from Narnia and obviously Malec. This chapter is a part two to the previous one so if you haven't read that one, then you should before reading this one.

Alec dropped his jacket at the door, throwing off his boots and weapons belt with an irritable sigh. Magnus appeared from the kitchen upon hearing the commotion and watched as Alec stared angrily at his items of clothing on the floor before picking them up.

"Everything alright?" Magnus asked, startling the Shadowhunter. Alec had been stuck at the Institute for two weeks, unable to leave and unable to release his wings. He'd been up during nights, dealing with demon attacks or surprise visits to the Institute.

It was then, at that moment, the pain in Alec's back increased tenfold. Alec gave Magnus a halfhearted smile and forced himself not to cry out. Magnus wasn't buying it.

"Hey," Magnus spoke softly, walking over to Alec slowly, taking his face in his hands. Alec reached up and placed his hands on Magnus's. "What's wrong? What are you keeping from me?"

"Just an injury in a hunt. Sorry to just come in like this, no warning."

Magnus leant over and pressed a light kiss on Alec's forehead. "This is your apartment too. You come in unannounced as much as you like. This injury. Anything I can do?"

Alec shook his head, lying. He really didn't want to worry Magnus. Not today. "I've applied an Iratze. I'll be fine in a few. The exhaustion is just slowing the process down."

"You sure?" Magnus questioned. Alec plastered on a small smile and nodded.

"I'm fine," Alec repeated. Magnus kissed Alec once more on the forehead before backing up and pulling Alec over to the sofa, sitting down with Alec following suit. Magnus clicked his fingers and the fire lit up and the TV turned on. Alec smiled again and leant on Magnus's shoulder, curling up.

They sat in silence watching a Project Runway rerun and, after a while, Magnus shifted, his arm falling from Alec's shoulders to his back. The Shadowhunter grunted as pain shot through him. Magnus turned to face him, concerned.

"Alexander?" he queried quietly. "What was that?"

"Nothing." Alec lied again.

"It should have healed by now."

"It's nothing. Please, just leave it."

"No."

"Magnus-"

"Show me."

Alec sighed, turning his back on his boyfriend and slipped off his shirt. He knew there was no arguing with Magnus when he was in this kind of mood. As the shirt was removed from Alec's torso, he heard Magnus let out a small gasp.

"Alexander..." Magnus trailed, tracing one of the injuries on his back. Alec had multiple wounds on his back made by daggers and scratches by nails. The worst ones through we're the two, deep and agonising ones running a short way down his back. These wounds were calculated. Purposefully there to reveal his wings.

"What happened?" Magnus asked, his voice trembling with anger. "And why didn't you tell me?"

"I didn't want you to worry," Alec replied truthfully for the first time that evening. Alec felt a rush of pain relief as Magnus healed the wounds.
