when you left,
i denuded the garden
picking every flower
stripping every petal
removing every leaf
pricking my fingers
on thorns and knives
shedding blood and tears
making the ground shake
clamp down in acid
when you left,
my eyes have refused to see
the only beautiful thing
you left me with
i destroyed the paradise
you grew and nurtured
in my soul and body
