Violets POV

I sat down at a table in the schools courtyard, watching as Leila went to clear things out with Grayson. Leila's a good person, and I hated that she thinks she doesn't deserve a good guy.

At the table on the right of me, sits Clay and all of his other popular friends -who I'm very familiar with- are sitting around him, listening to him tell stories.

I could only think of the worst because of what happened yesterday and I feel like it's downhill from here.

Everyone around the table suddenly got up and started to walk into school, I avoided eye contact with any of them but heard snickers which was bad. I waited till everyone was well in the school before I finally got up to meet with Leila.

I walked down the hall with my head down for the first time, everyone was giving me looks that I didn't want to see anymore.

"How'd it go?" I asked Leila once Grayson left. She blushed a little which only meant good things.

"Alright." She smiled. I smiled with her and gave her a hug.

"Seems more than alright to more.. you guys literally hugged.." I was excited till i thought about what I just said. "You hugged Grayson Dolan in front of the whole school and it's alright?!"

"I don't care anymore, this school is so frustrating so why do I have to make it seem as if I actually enjoy it here?"

My jaw dropped and I was speechless. I'm now so worried and I just have so much on my mind right now. I just wanna Leave this town.

"Don't worry okay? It'll work out for you in the end." Well she seems happier than ever. "I hope so." I sigh.

Leila looks around the school and says, "What happened during your study sesh? Everyone seems to have a look toward you."

"A lot happened.." I sighed, Leila looked at me telling me to go on, "let's just say.. Clay and I aren't on good terms. Him and Ethan aren't either." I explained, rubbing the back of my neck.

"You're joking?" I shook my head no. "I'm not joking, they got into punch up.."

"Speaking of.." she nodding behind my shoulder. I turned around, and as expected it was Ethan. Around his eyes were bruising up which makes me cringe to see his face all ruined.. because of me.

"Hey," He greeted and I gave him a toothless smile. A fake one, "I just wanted to say thanks.. and sorry as well. Clay has probably already.. done something." I stood there and looked at the ground from shame. "And I finished the report for you, on less thing to worry about." He explains. The bell suddenly rang and Leila left us alone to walk to class together.

I stood there giving Ethan an actual glare for the first time but his mood didn't change, he was patient and that's what I liked about him most. He waits for you, he lets you explain and he sees right past your bullshit.

People were staring and I felt so pressured. I wanted to tell him how much I needed him, how much I wanted to just feel his warm embrace. But I can't right now. I'm not ready to accept the fact that I'm not a normal popular high school student. That's all I want to be. Normal, whatever that means.

I groaned under my breath and started to walk off to class, I was one of the last ones to walk to class so the hallways were nearly empty.

I took a few steps but Ethan suddenly grips onto my left shoulder causing me to wince and nearly fall down.

"Ouch!" Gasped. "What was that? I'm sorry." He apologised.

"Nothing."

"Tell me Violet, I want to help." He sighed, I didn't dare to turn around to face him. "Please Violet, I promise you I do not intend to hurt you and I'm not mad at you for yesterday" but I'm mad at myself.
