"The audience always forgets that the villain has a backstory as well,"

It was a cold winters day.

A small girl with dark brown hair pulled into two pig tails stared outside, eyes big and doe.

It looked so pretty to her. The snow. It fell like angels flying angels to the ground, wrapping the world in its warmth. Or coldness. Either way it was beautiful.

She knew someone else who loved the snow as well.

The front door to her house opened, letting the freezing winters wind inside.

"Soojung-ie, please hurry inside,"

Her...

The little girl turned her head to the sitting room door, pretending to see her mum interact with the woman that came in.

"It's been too long!"

"It has, two years!"

"Where's Minjae?"

"He wasn't feeling well the poor pet,"

"Oh that's sad...but look at [Y/n]! He's grown up a lot, hasn't he?"

"[Y/n] be nice to your aunt or you'll know what'll happen,"

"...y-yeah. I've grown a-a lot. I'm a b-big boy now!"

The sitting room door opened and in came the little girl's mum, aunt and...

Cousin.

[Y/n]. The boy who was a little goodie two shoes. The boy who did anything to get his mother's attention. The boy who always had bruises on his body from falling or crashing into furniture. The boy who was reserved as an owl. The boy with pale skin and weird coloured eyes. The boy who had no friends.

"Soojungie...," her mother muttered lowly "Why does [Y/n] have a lot of bruises on his skin?"

The little girl waited for an answer.

"He was playing with some of his friends today. They played rough even if I told them not to," she looked at [Y/n] "Isn't that right, [Y/n],"

It seemed like she was the only person who saw the dark intent in her eyes as she said her son's name, her eyes darkening and her head held high to seem superior.

Maybe because it was the exact same look her mother used and she grew used to it.

Maybe.

[Y/n] fumble with his shirt, gulping, looking as if he'd cry. "Y-Yes mama," he mumbled "I tried to stop them. B-But they didn't. They kept on going,"

The look on Soojung's face changed dramatically. Her eyes sparkled, face glowed and her face screamed mother. Then she turned to the little girl's mother to talk.

[Y/n] just sat on the other sofa, looking as if he was crying.
