Chapter 40

*Alyssa's POV*

"Try me" i snapped at Nash.

"Try me" Nash mimicked me.

"Lets do something or play a game" Lizzie suggested jumping in the pool.

"Let's play sharks and minnows" Hayes cheered.

We all agreed and I was picked to be the shark first. Of course.

"Okay let's start. I'm gonna get cold standing on this diving board for so long" i shivered.

I heard splashing. I jerked my head around, but of course they were just messing with me.

"Uhhhh" I groaned while taking a step forward to the back of the diving board.

It was quite for a really long time. I looked back to see Hayes under the water. I ran and jumped off the diving board. I touched Hayes before he could reach the wall.

"Yes. I got you. Now your the shark" i stuck out my tongue at Hayes.

"For now. I'll get you" he scrunched his eyebrows.

"Well see" I replied as he got out of the pool.

He got on the diving board and turned around.

"Alright Nash. Here's the plan. We are all going to go at once. He won't know which one of us he caught so he will have to go again" I whispered to him.

"Nice thinking. But how will Lizzie and Morgan know about the plan" he asked me.

"I'm going to tell them underwater" i said.

"How" he raised an eyebrow.

"We've done this millions of times. Trust me" i assured him.

I motioned for Morgan to go under water. She went under and so did i. I pointed to me, Nash, Lizzie, and her and pointed back and fourth. I put four fingers up and she nodded her head. We resurfaced and she was telling Lizzie. They nodded and looked at me.

"Alright you ready" i asked Nash.

"Yeah" he replied.

I looked at Hayes who was almost at the end of the diving board. I splashed and he turned around. He huffed and stepped off the diving board.

"Go" i motioned to Morgan.

We all swam at the same time under water. I was actually surprised we didn't run into each other while doing this.

"How did you do that" Hayes asked at the tip of the diving board.

"Skills" Nash smirked.

"Whatever. I don't want to play anymore. Its boring" Hayes jumped in the water.

"Lets go somewhere" Lizzie suggested as she got out of the pool.

"Where" Morgan asked.

"Let's go to the frozen yogurt place. Its only like 2 blocks away" i got out of the pool and grabbed a towel so I wasn't freezing.

"Let's penny-board there" Hayes said.

"Yeah. You can borrow our old ones" Nash smiled.

"But I don't know how to penny-board" I told them.

"Remember when we first met" Hayes asked me.

"Yeah why" I replied.

"Well you said you wanted to learn how to penny-board. So i'll teach you now" he smiled.

"But what if I fall" i frowned.

"I'll catch you" he replied giving me a hug.

"Okay" I smiled.

"Do you guys know how to penny-board" Nash asked Lizzie and Morgan.

"Yeah" Lizzie replied.

"Kinda" Morgan mumbled.

"Great. Let's go" Nash cheered.

Me and the girls threw on cover ups and the boys put a shirt on. We went over to the boy's house and went in the garage.

"Here Alyssa. You get the blue one" Nash told me.

"Excuse me. Thats teal" i scoffed taking it from his hand.

"Well teal is a blue. Here Lizzie, you get purple. And Morgan, you get green" Nash handed them there penny-boards.

Nash grabbed a white one from the shelf and Hayes grabbed a black one.

"Hayes, i'm scared" I grabbed Hayes arm as I got on the board.

"Don't be. You'll be fine. I'll be here to catch you. Here. Hold my hand" he put out his hand and i took it.

We rode down the drive way and I was doing pretty good. It was really fun.

"I'm gonna let go now" Hayes told me.

"No please don't" i pleaded.

"Your doing fine" he smiled.

"Fine" I gave in.

He let go and I wobbled a little, but then I was going fine. But there was only one problem. I didn't know how to stop and we were going down a little hill at the moment.

"HAYES. How do i stop" i screamed.

I couldn't hear him because I was too far ahead. We were almost at the frozen yogurt place but i still didn't know how to stop. There're was another street ahead, but we didn't have to go that way. Thank god. I wasn't really good at turning either.

I heard someone calling my name so I looked back. It was Hayes.

"To stop you have to-" but i couldn't hear what else he said.

I felt something hard hit my whole body. It hurt too.
