*still Mikki's p.o.v.*

*1 hour later*

I woke up with a pounding headache. The basement Chelsea and I were trapped in was deserted except for me and Chelsea occupying it. I looked over at Chelsea and tears rolled down my face. She wasn't responding. I decided to go over to her to see if there was any sign of life from her.
"Chelsea?" I whispered, loud enough so hopefully she can hear me, but low enough so our kidnappers didn't hear.
I heard her groan after a minute. I quickly checked out her wound and it looked like the bullet grazed her.
"Mikki?" I heard her say after another minute.
"Yeah?"
"We still up for plan B?"
I laughed and said,
"Chelsea, you're injured. We can't escape now and besides, our kidnappers are still here."
"Well, too bad. We're going to attempt plan B." she said while getting up, and putting her phone in her front pocket and her coat around her waist.

I didn't bother trying to argue with her. She looked around while holding her side and said,
"There's gotta be something to break the door."
"That's still your plan B?! The kidnappers will hear us!"
"Not if we execute this perfectly and according to plan. Look for something big and sharp enough to cut through wood."

We looked around in the basement and couldn't find anything for a little while. That is, until Chelsea went behind the stairs.
"You think these bozos would be smart enough to get rid of anything that could mean escape for us. Then again, with all the beer and whiskey they're drinking...." she said with a laugh. Amazing to think that she can still laugh after getting shot.
"What do you mean? Did you find something?"
"I found an axe back here." she replied.
"But still, wouldn't the kidnappers hear us if we try breaking the door with that?" I said while she came out with the axe in her hand.
She looked at it and said,
"Not if we slowly cut at the door. We need a hole big enough for us to fit through. If not big enough, hopefully it's enough for one of us to reach for the knob and open the door."
She paused, took a breath, and said,
"We need to guess how thick this door is, though."
"Right."

We walk up the stairs and we feel the door. Chelsea pushes up against it with all her strength.
"It's about an inch thick. We should be able to break through it easily with the axe."
I nodded and gestured towards the axe in Chelsea's hand. She handed it to me and I put the blade of the axe against the door. I started doing a sawing motion and I made some headway. I was able to cut about 1/4 of an inch into the door. I handed the axe to Chelsea and she went another 1/4 inch in a different direction in the same area. This was the process until we were able to cut a hole in the door. It obviously wasn't big enough to fit either one of us through, but it was a start.

*20 minutes later*

The hole was finally big enough to fit one arm through. Chelsea snaked her arm through the hole to feel for the knob. She felt it to see if we could unlock it.
"Yes!" Chelsea whispered.
I looked at her confused.
There was a click. Then, the knob turned and the door opened. We laughed quietly to ourselves. We backed up to open the door and we tiptoed out the door into the house. Now we had to figure out how we're going to get out without being noticed.

*1 minute later*

Chelsea's p.o.v.

My side hurt like hell, but I did my best to ignore it. That was the least of my worries at the moment.
We looked around quickly for a mean of escape from the place. I looked to my right and there was a door with a screen door on the outside. I nudged Mikki and I pointed towards the door. We started walking, but I stopped abruptly when I saw the kidnappers passed out drunk at the kitchen table with a bunch of empty alcoholic beverage bottles on the table. I motioned to Mikki to be quiet as we tiptoed in sync to the door. I opened the big door slowly, stopping when the kidnappers stirred or coughed. I opened the door wide enough for us to fit through. I noticed a land-line phone on the counter. I whispered to Mikki,
"You go first. I'll be behind you."
She nodded and slowly went through the door while I grabbed the phone and quickly programmed it to call 911 after a silent timer set for 10 minutes went off. That gave me and Mikki enough time to get out the door and maybe a safe distance away. I quietly set the phone on the counter and slipped out the door, shutting it behind me until it was only a crack open. I shut the screen door behind me and creeped alongside the side of the house to where Mikki was. She was standing under a window.

"This window's open, so we can't say anything too loud." she whispered. Then, 5 minutes of creeping along the house later, we heard a voice,
"Fredericka, why don't you go check on the prisoners?" We froze in our tracks as we listened.
"Why do I have to do it?" another voice said. We figured it was the trans-gender.
"'Cause you're the youngest and we're older than you, so GO DO IT!"
the one we guessed was PJ said. We stayed next to the side of the house and then, 5 minutes later, we barely heard the phone over the trans-gender's voice yelling,
"THEY ESCAPED!!!!!!!"
