The topic about whether to have sex before marriage is a very controversial topic among the youths today. Most intimate relationships, apart from marriage can't do without sex which is quite appalling and sad at the same time. But do we have to "test drive sex" before we can consider being with someone for life? Some youths are now engaging themselves in having several sex partners simply because they don't really know that being in a relationship is more than just having sex. I'm a Christian and I won't be surprised if most of you don't agree with my point of view. I believe relationships can greatly survive and last without sex if both partners are of the same mindset and also if they have the same belief. Only few of those who engaged in premarital sex actually get married to each other on the long run, but how are you sure he/she is going to get married to you after you've given him/her your body without any lifetime commitment? It saddens my heart when all I see around me whether online and offline is about how good sex is, especially among the youths. If we remove sex from most relationships now, I'm very sure virtually 99.9% of these relationships won't last for six months and this is where cheating comes into place. We need to change our mindset about premarital sex. If it is sex a lady can only offer me and nothing else in a relationship, then I'll be wasting my time with her.
And if you are waiting for the right time (marriage) before you have sex with the right person, don't be discouraged because you are not alone. Don't compromise your standards because of someone who doesn't care about your person, your plans, your goals and your destiny. Don't belittle yourself because of someone who has no control over himself/herself. One day you will eventually meet the right person that will help you physically, spiritually, mentally, emotionally, financially and in every area of your life. And the sex with that person will be of blessing, you won't feel guilty about engaging in sex with that person. And also you will be a blessing to your husband/wife, children, friends and everyone around you. Separate yourself from those who don't seem to have positive impacts in your life. Focus on building yourself as a man/woman.
Personally, I can't wait to meet the woman God has planned for me and that's why I'll continue to wait till the right time and until I meet her.
Note: Sex is great, blissful and enjoyable when you do it with the right person under God's approval and blessings.
