mistake

I got out and quickly got dressed and did my hair and make up before slipping my heels on and then met up with luke downstairs.
Lu- I just got off the phone with mom and she said she made reservations at yard house so we should head out now so we're not late
La- ok
I followed him out to the car and he at least still opened my door for me and helped me in before heading to his side but I can tell he's still upset cause he's very quiet and he didn't even compliment me and I'm not trying to sound like I demand it it's just weird since he compliments me even if I walk around the house in sweat pants so I don't get it. I just sat there in the silence and looked out the window cause I was too afraid to reach for the radio. After forever the car finally came to a stop and we walked over to meet up with liz.
Liz- aww sweetie you look beautiful
La- thank you
Liz- hello luke
Lu- hi mom
Liz- our table should be ready any minute they just told me they were clearing the table off
La- sounds good
Before anyone else said anything the waiter came and took us to the table and the waiter pulled the chair out for Liz which was sweet and luke did the same for me. We ordered our drinks and then silence took over again
Liz - is everything alright with you two
I just shrugged my shoulders cause its true I don't know and luke mumbled that we were fine and it was clear she didn't believe him but she wasn't pushing it
Liz - oookk well son we need to talk
Lu - about what
Liz- about a job
Lu- you're giving me a job
Liz- yeah why so surprised I mean I was the one who made you the ceo anyways so why is it a surprise I'm giving you another one
Lu- I don't know maybe cause you took my job away and you took my love away or at least tried
Liz - this is different
Lu- why cause I knocked her up so you now feel bad and you feel you need to help with my mistake
Liz- mistake ?
I couldn't believe that word left his lips and I just stared at him for a few then I excused myself to the bathroom. Once I was in there I broke down crying I should've known he wasn't happy about it based on the way he's acting but to call the whole situation a mistake was just cruel and the fact he wasn't even phased makes me want to be as far away as possible but there's no way for that to happen. In the middle of my cry I heard Liz come in
Liz- sweetie please come out and talk to me for a minute
I listened and left the stall and she gave me a hug and then we pulled apart
Liz- I'm so sorry about him
La- I caught on to him not being happy but how can he call the baby a mistake
Liz - I don't know but I do know that you don't want to be around him am I right
I nodded and she continued
Liz- I'll finish this dinner with luke and call it a business dinner and you go either to your parents house or your friends or something to cheer yourself back up cause you deserve to be happy
La- thank you
Liz- you're welcome
We hugged again and then left the bathroom her heading back to the table and me to the doors to leave. I'm sure this is only going to add to the trouble I'm already in but I really don't give a shit right now.
