"The way they look at you and the way they treat you. How could I ever let you live with that? I don't care if she's your mom." I looked into the little girl's eyes. The glossy sheen that mirrors my reflection, making it look like she wasn't looking at you. But I knew she was.
"I'm your only family. Okay?"
Her crooked lips twisted into a smile. Only that most people wouldn't see it as a smile. It curls in an odd way and makes her face looks as if it splits at the bottom. Although It looked so bizarre, I found it charming.
"Okay." She replied.
I gave her a hug and kissed her forehead.
"Fionna Collins?" A soft spoken voice echoed from behind us.
I turned back and a woman in a nurse outfit was standing by the door. She was smiling kindly.
"I'm sorry, but visiting hours is over and Fionna needs to take her medications," she explains, politely asking me to leave.
I took one last look at Fionna and gave her another hug. "If she comes back to take you away, just remember one thing - fight." I looked into her mucky brown eyes. "With whatever it takes, fight."
She nodded and I smiled, tucking a stray hair behind her left ear. "See you next week, okay?"
A tear rolled down her cheek. I quickly wiped it away. "Promise?" She said, extending a pinky towards me.
I enlace my finger with hers. "Promise."

My mind remembered her when my fist first lands on Garrett's jaw.
Truth be told, I just needed an excuse to wreck that stupid face of him. I wouldn't say I don't care about what he did to that awkward chick, Luna, but it's definitely not my main reason for stepping in.
To my delight, Garrett staggers back due to the impact. Instantly, I hear the almost unison gasps escaping everyone's lips. Including Luna's.
"Fuck off, Garrett." I half whisper. He lifts up a finger to his lips, wiping the drop of blood at the corner of his mouth.
Garrett squints at me. "THIS IS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!" he screams.
As I'm about to respond, I feel my arm getting tugged away. And before I know it, Luna is dragging me out of the mansion.

We're sitting on the curb a little bit away from where the party takes place.
Still puffing from exhaustion and probably confusion and all sorts of weird feelings we can't describe, we decided to stay quiet.
After what felt like an eternity of silence, a low, almost soundless sobbing breaks out.
