Note: I am not sure what happened to this part, as I had previously written it. I thought i published it but it's gone so I'm writing it again. If anyone has seen it I'm really sorry cause this part might be semi-different than when I first wrote it.
Paul POV
"Yeah, got it. I'll let her know, but just to be safe the rest of my pack is coming with." I hung up my phone cursing underneath my breath. I looked to Sam Uley's living room where several of the guys were napping. Patrol had gotten a little interesting the past few days, as Embry spotted some rogue vampires passing through the area a few times. It put us all on edge. Come to find out that the Cullen's reached out to some of their kind, 'vegetarians' just like them, to help Todd adjust, and now it seemed as if they agreed he was ready to see Josephine again. I, however, wasn't so sure. It had only been a few months, and I wasn't prepared for her to get hurt. "Paul......." I looked to Sam who was standing against the doorway leading to the kitchen. He looked at me knowingly. "You need to tell Josephine. This is a tough situation, but we will all be there." I nodded and grabbed my keys. I ran over to the living room tossing a pillow onto Embry's head. He jolted awake, accidentally hitting Quil in the process. He gave me a "what the fuck" look. "Cullen's called, Todd wants to see Jo. Be ready in an hour. I'm going to go get her now."
Jo POV
I stood in my shower, the warm water rushing over me as I stared at the floor. I was worried. Todd still hadn't contacted me. I had heard nothing, but I was trying to be patient. My bluetooth speaker on the shower wall rang out loudly drawing me from my thoughts. "Hello?" i called answering it. "Babe?" I loved hearing the sound of Paul's voice. "That's me" I answered giggling. "What's that sound?" He asked. I smirked knowingly to myself "Oh nothing I'm just in the shower." I could hear a low groan coming from him. "Remind me again why we aren't allowed to make hot, passionate, sexy love right now." I chuckled "Oh Paul Daniel Lahote......... because we are trying to grow more emotionally strong before we explore too much into the physical aspect of our relationship." He groaned again, louder this time. "Fine fine fine, you are such a little tease though.................. anyway I called to let you know something." I turned off the water to hear him better. He sighed loudly. "Paul what's wrong......" "Todd is ready to see you. I'm on my way to pick you up. "
I threw on a black tank top, jacket and some denim shorts before running downstairs to put on my black combat boots. My parents were on a getaway weekend and Aunt Lacey was with Sue Clearwater planning a graduation party for Paul and Jared. I was thankful for their absence. I didn't want to have to explain to my father why I was leaving again to go to the Cullen's home. He was livid the last time I had gone. I soon heard Paul's truck pull up to the house and I rushed out to meet him. He stopped me before I could climb in. "Wait I need to talk to you." His tone was serious so I didn't question him. "Jo, I need you to understand something. If anything goes wrong, you and you only are my first priority. If he tries to hurt you, I will have to hurt him. I don't like the situation, but I'm doing this for you and your happiness. So promise me that if I have to take extraordinary measures to keep you alive and safe that you won't hate me or leave me." He looked so concerned as the words flew from his mouth I reached up to place my hand on the side of his face. "I won't ever leave you Paul. I'm yours and you are mine. I understand the situation isn't ideal. Hell, it's downright awful. I love that you are doing this for me. I know you will protect me, but please give him the chance to adjust. I want to be in his life and vice versa, but I can't do all this without you." Without another word, he kissed me and helped me up into his truck. The ride to the Cullen's was silent, and when we finally reached it I saw the pack lined up in their wolf forms. I could feel my heart beating rapidly in my chest and my breathing hitched. "Jo?" Paul asked looking to me, noticing my frozen state. I just kept staring at the scene before me. "What if Todd can't control himself? What if I never get to see him again?" He came around to the passenger side opening the door and grabbing my hands. "Jo look at me......... It's going to be fine.... and if not we will get through it together. You won't know until you try. I can't believe I'm encouraging you to go in there, but I want you to be happy. You can't be afraid to do something because you are worried about the outcome." I nodded and followed him past the pack and up to the front door where Carlisle stood. "Josephine nice to see you again, and welcome Paul." I smiled at him and Paul stood stern. "Well, let us go see Todd shall we." Carlisle led us into the house and up to the second floor living room, where I had last seen Todd as he was dying. All of the Cullen's stood in a group in the middle of the room. I could see a slight glimpse of his back turned away from us. "Todd?" I called out. Jasper whispered something in his ear. Paul grabbed hold of my hand. I could tell he was very tense. "I guess I can see why they call it wet dog smell." Rang an familiar yet changed voice. He turned around, and I let out a small gasp. He was so different. He still looked like Todd, only pale, more defined, and his eyes and hair had changed color. In place of his blue eyes stood amber colored ones. In place of his dirty blonde hair stood platinum blonde. When I was done noticing how much he had changed, I noticed his smile. That had not changed. "It's so great to see you Joey." I smiled back, almost in tears. "I'm so happy you're ok." I squeaked out letting go of Paul's hand to step a few feet forward. He approached me carefully, an intensity in his eyes. Soon we stood just a few feet apart and I could feel the tension build in the room, I could also feel Paul's gaze locked on me. I couldn't help myself, I rushed forward and hugged him tightly. He returned my hug , but after a few seconds I could feel his arms tighten too much around me. Soon we were pulled apart and I was thrusted to the side. "Paul!!!!" Carlisle called getting between him and Todd. I caught a glimpse of Todd who now had red piercing eyes, and he was being held back by jasper and Emmett. "I knew this was a bad idea. He isn't ready to be around her." Paul yelled shaking. I could hear footsteps run into the house. Soon Sam, Jacob, and Embry stood in wolf form around me. "Everyone calm down!" I screamed standing back up. All eyes looked to me. "He did fine! We knew this wasn't going to be easy. Do not blame him! I shouldn't have rushed it like that." Todd lifted his eyes to meet mine. He was no longer struggling and his eyes had turned back to an amber shade. "I'm so sorry Joey." Paul sneered, coming to join me at my side. I looked him in the eyes. "Paul, stop. He knows what he did. It's not completely his fault. Please just calm down." Paul let out a heavy sigh and softened his stance. I looked to Todd again, "Todd, I will come back in a month. Hopefully then we can try again. I love you and I miss you so much. You are still my best friend don't ever forget that." That being said I rushed back out of the house, I may have come off strong but I needed to get out of there.
