"Paul!" I squealed as he tried putting his hands under my shirt as I did my hair. I smacked them away. He groaned "oh come one you know you want to." I giggled and kept on doing my hair. "Babe I want to but we are already almost going to be late." We were getting ready to go to a big meeting with the elders. They said they had big news and we needed to be aware of the situation. To say I was nervous was an understatement. Paul was also trying to calm his nerves in the best way he knew how. Paul sighed and sat against the counter beside me. "So do you think this meeting is about our incident?" I continued looking at my hair in the mirror refusing to show him how nervous I was. "Well maybe but we won't find out if we are late now will we." I had tried to sound convincing but by the feeling of him looking at me, I could tell he knew I was very nervous. "Jo, no matter what it is you are my imprint and nothing will hurt you or keep you from me. I'm serious in saying I ready to fight for you, in any way needed." I could feel myself tearing up. I turned to him and he grabbed my hands. "Babe we don't actually even know if it's all that bad. Or even bad at all." I nodded and wiped my tears. I grabbed my purse from the counter. "Ok Paul let's go. No matter what I love you so much." He smiled and kissed me. "I love you more my beautiful future Mrs. Lahote."

Paul POV
When we arrived at Sam's the whole pack and the elders were already there sitting around around a fire. It was nearly dark and although the weather was getting warmer it would be chilly soon. I caught Sam's eye and nodded at me with a small smile of encouragement. I knew he undoubtedly already knew about the situation. Even though I was his beta, he still couldn't disclose certain things. "Well since everyone is let's get to why we are here." Billy Black stated, the other elders sitting on each side of him. Paul and I sat directly across the fire from him as they were the only seats available, so I could see the concern in his eyes as he looked around the group. "I know many of you already know why we have gathered........... we had an incident that happened not too long ago of which an imprint experienced an episode of coma as a result of injury to her imprinter." Jo squeezed my hand tightly. It felt like forever sitting there waiting for him to continue. My heart beat rapidly in my chest and I could feel a numbness sting my fingertips. I realized I had been holding my breath and tried to breathe normally. "Josephine...... Paul.......... through our research and going over our cultures history, we may have pin pointed what is going on." I instinctively leant forward, however never let go or loosened my grip on her hand. Billy looked to Sam who sighed heavily. All eyes switched to Sam and I looked pleadingly for him to hurry up and just say it. "Josephine is a rare imprint........... you connected to her differently than any of us have to our imprints. We had to trace your lineage back pretty far but we found history about your great grandfather's father and his wife. She just like Jo would experience periods of feinting, coma, and pain when her imprinter was harmed in a more severe way, as in a way that put him in a lot of pain." I looked to Jo and saw that her eyes held fear. "We gain some of our strength from our imprints. This why we can feel what they feel. Only in this case because you both are connected deeper, it can cause problems........... which leads to the biggest issue." Sam looked back to Billy who nodded for him to continue. Sam looked to the floor folding his hands to a position he looked as if he were praying. "You're body can handle being hurt, but as she is human. She won't be able to handle it as well. Ultimately it will wear at her body, taking years off her life each time. If you get hurt bad enough, she could go into a coma and never come back and eventually she would die."
