A stranger stepped out of the long greyhound bus, slinging his duffel bag over his shoulder and walking briskly to the rent a car facility. He would get her back, this was his primary focus coming here. He had tried to stay away but he knew in his heart he needed her. He saw she was with some guy now by her pictures on social media, the guy looked like a douche on steroids. He knew he made a mistake not contacting her. But he was here now.

I was sitting on La Push beach, watching Paul and the guys play volleyball. It was like watching Greek gods, well at least by staring at Paul. "Jesus take a picture it might last longer." Kim joked and I playfully shoved her. I looked down at my phone buzzing, it was my dad calling. I sent it to voicemail not really wanting to stop watching the scene before me, pathetic maybe but I just couldn't get enough of him lately. Everyone teased us after the first time, and Emily gave me 'the talk'. My parents still didn't know, which it would only be a matter of time now that my dad was beginning to shift more. I feared for Paul, my father would be pissed. Here again my dad called so I finally answered. "What's up pops?" He sighed and paused for a moment "I hate that name Josephine you know that." I giggled well aware of that fact. "Um Jo, I have some news. You remember your friend Todd?" I could feel my heart sink. I had been worried about Todd, he basically went MIA and I didn't know whether he was ok or not. "What wrong?! Is he ok?" I noticed the game had stopped and all the guys and girls were looking at me concerned hearing the urgency in my voice. "Honey, he apparently ran away from his parents house. They said they wondered if he had contacted you." I but my lip "No he hasn't contacted me since a little after we moved here." I worried for Todd, he wasn't this irresponsible and cruel to leave without at least telling his parents. He loved his parents and they had a great relationship. "Ok honey well if he does contact you will you please let me know so I can calm his worried parents." "I will Dad. Love you" "love you too baby girl." I hung up and stared at my phone blankly. I could feel tears behind my eyes but I held it back. Paul was now at my side motioning for the guys to continue and take the attention off me. "Babe what's wrong?" He asked concerned. I looked into his eyes "My best friend from back home is missing. Something is going I know. He wouldn't just up and leave, at least I don't think he would." Paul narrowed his eyes. "He?" I rolled my eyes "Yes Paul he. Wrong time to get jealous babe." Paul toned down and hugged me. "Sorry....... I'm sure he's fine."
After the guys were tuckered out from the beach, we all walked back to my and Embry's house to hang out. When we got there I saw a strange car in the driveway. I could tell Paul noticed too as he looked skeptically at the silver Honda Civic. "Whose that?" Seth asked seeing a figure emerge from the side door. My father followed behind it. I squinted my eyes trying to make out the figure from this distance. Then my eyes became wide. "Todd?!!!!!" I yelled. I could see that familiar smile spread across his face and I squealed running to him and jumping into his arms.

I was beyond on edge. Here my girl, my imprint was enveloped in some other man's, arms, a man I didn't know to make the situation worse. Embry and I walked up to them, standing a distance back. I could feel my body involuntarily puff out my chest and my fists ball up.
