I sat in my room staring out at the rain. Paul's dad came home after he heard of his 'accident'. Sam told him Paul had been fooling around with his buddies rock climbing and had fallen causing the rope to loosen and swing him straight into the rocks. I had to admit it was a good excuse. However, no one was allowed to go over for a few days. It was killing me not being able to be by his side. I had passed out suddenly while Carlisle helped him and woke up the next day. Jacobs dad had said Paul and I had such a strong bond, our bodies would react somewhat similar, whatever that meant. Long story short, Paul's stress became mine and it was too much for me. The elders were apparently researching our type of bond because they hadn't ever seen it before. I didn't really think anything of it, I was too distracted with my need to see Paul. "Ok that's it come on." I heard after a pillow collided with my head. Embry grabbed one my bags tossing some clothes and my makeup/hair utensils in. "I'm not going near your...... delicates. If you want them packed you need to do it yourself. You have 5 minutes." Before I could ask any questions, he was out my door and walking downstairs. I could hear him talking to my aunt Lacey. With a deep sigh, I gathered some underwear in my bag, put on my black converse and went downstairs. "Be careful you two!" She called after me as I followed Embry as he walked out the front door and to his car. "Em where the hell are we going?" He smirked "oh you will see. It's a surprise." I wasn't in the mood for games, but I also didn't want to waste my energy fighting him. So, I threw my bag in the back and got in the passenger seat. It looked like we were going to Sam and Emily's, but instead of turning onto their drive we went further and took the next left . "Uh Em, I think you missed your turn." I noticed him smirking again. "No I didn't just wait." I huffed and crossed my arms, becoming impatient. Soon we rounded a corner of forest brush, and a small cottage like home appeared. There was a pretty wrap around porch, and the front displayed a huge window above the front door. It was a gorgeous little place. "What is this place Em?" He parked the car and turned to me smiling. "Sam and Emily originally bought this place and planned to fix it up to rent out for vacationers." He exited the car so I followed suit. "So you are sending me away to "vacation" by myself?" I stated putting up air quotes. He laughed and turned to the front porch. When I looked back to the house I gasped. There stood Paul, his left arm in a sling. He was smiling widely. "Welcome to you new home Jo." Embry stated, pushing me forward. I was shocked and couldn't speak. I came to stand on the porch , several feet in front of Paul. "I've always pictured myself settling into a home a bit bigger than this. Someday we will. But I realize it doesn't matter how big the home is, it matters who is in the home. " Paul began looking to the house. "I realize we are young and maybe I'm moving too quickly. But Josephine Call, you are my reason to live. You are the air in my lungs, the blood in my veins. You make every bad thing in my life fade. The past few days have been absolutely horrible. I just wanted to make sure everything was perfect." Suddenly the Pack appeared from the house, along with my parents, Aunt Lacey, Emily, Kim, and Paul's father. I looked around at all of them, noticing the women had begun to tear up. "Josephine Juliet Call?" I looked back to Paul who was now on one knee. I felt my breathing hitch and my heart sped up. He held out in his hand a small black box. In the box there was a simple rose gold diamond ring. Now it was my turn to start crying. "I can't stand to think of ever living without you. Please be my forever, my wife, the mother of my children, and I promise I will love you more each and every day. Marry me?" I thrust myself forward, kneeling down and kissing him passionately. "I'd say that's a big......" I cut Seth off shouting "Yes, yes, yes!!!! Of course yes!" A roar of cheering filled the air as Paul slipped the ring on my finger. "Well Paul here's the keys. Rent is due on the first of the month." Sam said dropping the keys into Paul's right hand. "Here their first 6 month's rent Sam." Paul's dad stated handing Sam an envelope. "Dad you don't have to do that......" Paul's dad held up a hand. "Paul, in the last year I have seen you go from a wreck less, irresponsible boy, to a responsible, caring man. I remember how much I grew to love your mother in such a short time, and how happy she made me. I see her in Josephine. I know your mother would love her too. So let your old man do this for you both." Paul wrapped his one working arm around his father who returned it with his. I started crying again and also hugged his father. "Take care of my boy Josephine. Keep him in line."

I stood in our new home watching Paul say goodbye to everyone through our kitchen window after we had our very first pack dinner in our new place. My mother and father also contributed to our new home, buying us new living room and dining room furniture. In this moment I felt beyond blessed, everyone was safe, and happy. Not to mention I was Mrs. Lahote to be. Paul walked in sighing loudly. "Well I guess I can go ahead and get rid of this damn thing." He pulled his sling off tossing it to the couch. "Wait! So you aren't hurting anymore?" I said surprised. He shook his head "Nope. Carlisle said I healed just fine. Just have to put on a show for the one who doesn't know I'm a super human. Aka my father." I playfully glared at him. " you have been very sneaky lately. I'll have you know I've been worried sick." He laughed nervously "Yeah sorry, I wanted to get this ready and surprise you." I rolled my eyes. "Well Mr. Lahote, you are going to have to make it up to me." I pulled myself up to sit on the kitchen counter leaning back to try to look sexy. As I predicted he smirked while walking towards me. "Finally want to try out the counter idea?" He was now standing in front of me, his hands straddling my hips. I unfolded my legs, leaning forward on both hands, my face just a few inches from his. "I think we have both waited long enough to be together again. I need my man." Paul pulled me towards him, to where I was barely sitting in the counter. "Say it again." He demanded gripping my hips and pushing into me. I could feel myself heat up and breathed in his intoxicating scent. "I need more than anything, my, only mine, my own, my man." No other words needed. He closed the distance of our lips, and let's just say the kitchen idea did not disappoint.
