"Sooo... Where's the girlfriend?" Shane asked, as he popped out of the bloom.

"I think principal Penelope wanted to see her about something," Karma replied.

        Shane just shook his head, making sure that Karma could sense his disapproval. She stopped dead in her tracks, annoyance radiating from her body.

"Shane, just be straightforward and tell me what you're thinking."

        He jumped in front of her, grinning from ear to ear, as he said, "Weeelllll, since you asked," he took a dramatic pause before continuing, "what kind of girlfriend doesn't know exactly where her partner is? I mean, you should be trying to figure out where exactly she is or why she isn't here with you."

        Karma sighed, "The fact that we are dating doesn't mean that we have to be on each other 24/7. Besides, she made sure to let me know that she wouldn't be able to see me until second period. Now, can I go get myself something to eat?"

"Fine. Why must you always ruin my fun?"

        Without answering, Karma proceeded to the breakfast line, Shane in pursuit. Once they were seated, she made sure to secretly send a text... It read Is everything okay?

              Shane flashed his, "My job here is done" smile to an oblivious Karma before continuing to eat away.
