"S-so were not gonna w-work this... o-o-out?" Hailey asked, her voice cracking showing her pain.
"No Hailey, we're not! We're getting a divorce!" Michael said sternly, and Hailey sniffled as more tears rolled down her cheeks.
"Y-you're acting like you're the only one wh-whose been in this position..." Hailey said softly, wiping her tears that Michael would usually wipe away.
"Oh! Where's the time I had an affair Hailey?" Michael asked sassily.
"Are you kidding me?!? You had an affair while you were drunk at the bar!" Hailey pointed out, and Michael scoffed.
"There's a keyword in that sentence... drunk. I. Was. Drunk! You were sober while kissing Jay and making out with him!" Michael pointed out, balling his fist up becoming angry.
"Oh like that's an excuse! You had a choice to get drunk, just like I had a choice to kiss and make out with Jay!" Hailey pointed out, trying to reason with each of their flaws.
"I didn't think I would get that drunk! You're a whole different story!" Michael said, his face becoming a little red with anger.
"You had a choice to go out or now, Conor! Damn it, you didn't even want to go out!" Hailey said through her teeth, anger boiling inside of her.
"So whAT IF I WANTED TO HAVE FUN HAILEY?! WHY ARE YOU ACTING LIKE THE DAMN VICTUM!?! YOU'RE NOT THE VICTUM!" Michael yelled at Hailey, making her become more angry.
"I'M NOT ACTING LIKE THE VICTUM, CONOR! FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! I'M JUST PO-" Hailey's yells we're interrupted by their daughters cry. Michael and Hailey exchanged looks, and walked out to her room. Skylar's room filled with the sound of her hard sobs.
"Sky..." Hailey said softly, pulling her into her lap. "What's wrong?" She asked softly, and Michael sat next to her wiping his daughters tears away.
"Y-you and d-d-daddy yell" Skylar said, sniffling starting to calm down. The married couple looked at each other, and back to their daughter.
"Sky..." Michael started, turning his daughters attention to him. "Everyone fights, it's just a whittle misunderstanding" Michael said to her.
"Huh?" Skylar asked, not understanding him completely. Michael chuckled and pulled her into him.
"Listen baby girl... you know how you and mommy yell when she says no to a toy she can't buy you but you really want?" He started and Skylar nodded. "It's what mommy and I are doing, okay? Don't cry" Michael said, and Skylar nodded.
"You wuv mommy?" Skylar asked, staring into his deep blue contacts with her chocolate brown eyes. Michael let out a shaky breath, he knew he'll always love Hailey regardless of what happens.
"Of course" he said, and Skylar turned to her mom.
"You wuv daddy?" She asked, and Hailey nodded to her daughter.
"Always" she said, and Skylar smiled and grabbed both of their hands.
"I wuv mommy and daddy" she said, and Hailey turned away for a brief moment to stop her tears. Michael observed her, and looked away for a second as well.
After they put Skylar to bed, they decided they should continue their conversation.
"What were you trying to point out?" Michael asked with an annoyed sigh.
"Th-that we both had our share fair in having affairs, or screwing up..." she said, and looked at the ground. Michael remained quiet for a moment, and sighed.
"Damn it Hailey..." Michael started, and she looked up at him.
"W-what?" She stuttered out, making him sigh.
"We have a daughter together, who we love dearly... and loves us dearly... she doesn't want us to ever break up..." he stated and Hailey nodded.
"I-I know" Hailey commented, and Michael looked st her.
"We can always have a costudy arrangement" Michael offered, and Hailey gasped not expecting those words to come out of his mouth. She turned around quickly to face him.
"S-s-seriously?!? Conor, we've been dating for YEARS! We're married, our daughters turning two very soon and THIS is what you're thinking of?!? You REALLY want this divorce that badly?!?" Hailey asked hurt filling her voice.
Michael stared at the girl and sighed, she was right to a certain extent.
"Y-you're right..." Michael said, and Hailey let out a sigh.
"And...?" Hailey tried to get more information on what he was trying to get at.
"But you also screwed up my life and my career..." Michael said, making Hailey gasp and tear up.
"E-exCUSE ME?!? I MESSED UP YOUR CAREER AND LIFE?!? HOW TH-" Michael placed his index finger over Hailey's mouth to shush her.
"Would you shut up?! Skylar is sleeping! Damn..." Michael said frustrated, he couldn't deal with it her yelling anymore. Hailey let out a deep breath, and laughed harshly. She was done with this conversation, and for good.
"This is my last point, and I'm OUT OF HERE!" Hailey yelled, making Michael turn his attention fully towards her. "FIRST OF ALL! I didn't screw up your life, okay?! You're the one that dragged me into it! SECOND OF ALL! I didn't mess up your career, YOU quit In Real Life! THAT'S NOT MY PROBLEM!" Hailey yelled, as she took out her clothes from their shared closet.
Michael watched the girl, trying to take in everything that was said and happening in this very moment.
"Ha-Hailey...?" Michael stuttered out, only for his wife to ignore him. She packed a bag for what looked like a week worth of clothes.
He watched as the girl took off her promise ring and handed it too him in his hand.
"So much for all those promises you made me" she said, as she took off her engagement ring, and placed it into his hand next.
"So m-much for that proposal..." she said, tears starting to form into her eyes. Michael's eyes tearing up as well, as he watched her take off her wedding ring.
She placed it into his hand, and curled his fingers over the rings. She stared into his blue contacts for a moment. She could still see the pain, and sorrow in them, but hers eyes showed that as well.
"An-and..." Hailey said, tears falling from her eyes. Michael reached his hand up to wipe them, only for Hailey to push his hand away. "Thanks fo-for those broken v-vows and m-m-making two wedding d-d-dates cause the first one... w-was screwed up" she stuttered out as she picked up her bag and walked out their bedroom door.
Michael opened his hand, and looked at the three rings in it. Tears fell from his eyes, he wanted to run to his wife- or maybe even ex wife now. But he felt as if his feet were stuck on the ground with glue.
He placed the rings on the bedside table, and more tears poured out of his eyes. His whole body was numb, and half of it was his own fault.
Hailey got into her car, and started it up. She looked at her left hand that was now bare, and felt naked. Her car lagged in starting, and she turned the key again.
"CoME ON! S-START UP!" She demanded only for her car to die. "YOU'RE KIDDING ME!" Hailey yelled, as she punched the wheel. Tears fell down her face, as she realized she wasn't going anywhere. She reached into her purse to find her phone, and she called Jay.
"J-J-J-Jay??" Hailey stuttered out, tears falling from her face.
"Hey Hailey! What's- uh what's going on?!?" Jay asked, pulling at his hair knowing he's half of the reason.
"M-my car w-won't start... can-can you pick me up?" Hailey asked, and Jay said a quick yes and hung up.
Hailey got out of her car, and sat on the front steps waiting for Jay. She really was pushing her limits with Michael if he saw this, but the younger boy was always there for her no matter what.
Jay's car pulled up to their house, and Hailey walked over towards it. Just then the front door opened to reveal Michael standing there.
"You'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW!!!!!" Michael yelled, beyond frustrated and hurt by his ex wife.
Jay stepped out of the car, and walked over to the angry Michael.
"LeaVE HER ALONE! YOU HURT HER SO MANY THIMES! LET HER BE OKAY AND SAFE FOR ONCE!!?? SHE NEED-" a fist collided with Jay's jaw making him groan in pain.
Hailey gasped from Jay's car and got out and ran to the two. But by the time she got there, everything went black.
