As they had continued on with their quite lengthy stay in Mystic Falls to themselves without a way of getting out, the three had embarked on a short-lived journey to the grocery store to gather what was needed until further notice, leaving them to stand there, cart in front of them as Bonnie read out their list of goods.
"We need strawberries. Eggs, milk and--ooh candles." Bonnie's eyes brightened as they found a candle sitting on an isle by itself and so she grabbed onto it, quickly throwing it into the cart before the other two could protest.
"I know it's been awhile, but you couldn't do magic as an anchor, so I'm curious what momentary lapse reason makes you think you can do it now?" Damon returned the conversation to what they had been previously discussing-- something he deemed important enough to push at, though the girls had quite literally dropped the idea out of thin air after bringing it up.
"Well, when we first got here your pancakes tasted and felt like cement, but now even they're somewhat edible." Amalia was quick to defend the former anchor, maintaining the slightest bit of faith in her abilities regardless of how they hadn't done much thus far. "Milk."
"There's no reason to be Peter Pessimist." Bonnie then walked over to a row of sunglasses, picking a specific pair up and covering her eyes with it, allowing the tag to tangle as well. "We have proof we're not alone."
"First of all. Don't nickname, that's my thing--" he walked over as well, grabbing another pair and accessorizing himself with it as well. "And this proof-- This mysteriously filled in crossword, could very easily have been you."
"I didn't fill it in." Bonnie replied, a hint of darkness in her tone due to the annoyance Damon brought on.
"No. You don't know you filled it in. You also don't know that you talk in your sleep. Eggs." Damon let out yet another food suggestion, picking it up and throwing it into the basket as well.
"What are you saying? Are you saying I sleep crossword?"
Damon then looked over at Amalia, accusing her of filling it in within a matter of seconds. "Hey! Turn the other direction. I barely ever fill it in when I'm awake."
"I'm saying it makes more sense than the alternative." Damon looked over at both of them, assured that either of them could have easily filled it in, rather than himself, who he seemed quite confident was innocent in the situation.
"I get what you're doing." Bonnie looked over at Damon as she had it all figured out at last, understanding why it was he seemed to be so pessimistic about it all.
