"He's so cute!" she squealed, ruffling Morphy's fur, and then she looked at me. "He actually got you a dog?" she asked, and without waiting for my response, she yelled, "How sweet!"

I rolled my eyes. "Are you ever not dramatic?" I didn't get a reply as she kept making mushy noises, and I was sure the poor animal couldn't wait to run away the moment she let loose of her tight hold on him.

Austin had dropped her off a while ago. She uses working on my school project with Nadine as an excuse to get away from her troublesome siblings. And since I was mostly alone, looking after the house was my own excuse not to spend weekends at her place. So my house was our perfect get away.

We were both seated on my bed, watching a movie in my laptop that Natasha wasn't giving any attention to.

"Can you both be quiet? I can't even hear a thing," I complained, about her nonstop giggles as she played with Morphy.

"Are you guys like, dating?" she asked, with the widest, curious eyes, sending my words of complaint into thin air. "You and William I mean."

I paused the movie and faced her properly. "Natasha, we are just friends, that he got me a dog doesn't mean anything. Stop making a big deal out of it."

"An ordinary friend, especially a guy, wouldn't just get you a dog. Like me for example. I've been your best friend for years! But never have I ever thought of getting you a dog!" She gestured like a teacher, and Morphy, who laid on his back, who I thought wanted to run away, was already reaching out to her to continue his body massage.

I sighed. "How did I end up with a bestie like you? You talk nonsense."

"Whatever. I personally think he's in love with you, and you one hundred percent feel the same way towards him."

I opened my mouth to speak, but then I paused to breathe so I don't yell. "We're not in love with each other," I said as calmly as I could. "William doesn't even believe in love, so your assumption is far from possible. Can we now watch the movie in peace? Thank you!" I turned to my laptop and clicked on the play button.

"But you wish he did believe in love because you're in love with him."

I groaned and paused the movie again. "What don't you get for goodness sake?" She only stared at me, waiting for a reply. I sighed. "He makes me feel like he's in love with me."

She folded her arms across her chest, giving me a look that said I sounded like a dummy. "Because you are."

I rolled my eyes.

"And you're blushing!" she teased.

I hit her with a pillow. "I'm not! Just amused at your stupidity." She laughed. "Want to pee. And don't watch without me." I climbed down from the bed and ran to the bathroom.

Natasha's gaze stopped me in my tracks when I returned.

"Okay, now what's up with you?" I asked as I continued to the bed.

I picked up my phone, and my eyes widened the moment I saw a missed call from My lover. I got tense. She saw it! I looked at her, and she gestured with her hands for an explanation, which I was about to give when the phone buzzed to a text message from My lover.

Don't expect me today cuz I'm really busy at the gym. I know you're going to miss me, but don't worry, I'll be back soon enough. *Wink.

"Jerk," I muttered, and then my phone got snatched. "Hey!" I yelled at Natasha whose nose wouldn't stay out of my business.
