"What flavour should I get you guys?" Kenneth asked.
"Vanilla," I said, and before a word came out of Natasha's mouth, he looked at her and said, "Chocolate, got it," with a confident smile that came from the knowledge of her.
"Why ask if you knew?" She stared at him the funny way she always does whenever she found him annoying. He wiggled his eyebrows at her, and she chuckled, shaking her head.
"Wait." I gestured with my hands, and they both gave me their attention. "So, Ken, you don't know my flavour or what?" I asked with an attitude that disapproved of his bias.
"You're not my girlfriend," he bluntly stated.
"Wow. It's a good thing I'm no longer single," I said, causing them to laugh.
"Babe, just ignore her and get us our ice-cream." Natasha dismissed me with a sassy wave of her fingers.
"Sure thing," Kenneth replied like a lovestruck puppet, and I rolled my eyes at the both of them. "Any mix?" he asked as he made to leave.
"Nah," Natasha and I said in unison.
"I'll be right back, ladies." He proceeded to the counter.
Natasha then perched her arms on the table with a wide smile. I stared at her weirdly, wondering what she was about to tell me that was so exciting.
"You're going for the dinner, right?" she asked.
"Natasha, not again," I said in a bored tone. "Must I go?"
"C'mon..." She kicked her feet under the table like a cry baby, her body syncing with the movement. "It's our last dinner night, it's going to be fun."
"You have Ken to go with, and I'm not in the mood for any party," I said, not charmed by her emotional plea.
"You can invite William." She held a smirk that forced me to smile.
"What did I miss?" Kenneth interrupted our little chat, placing a white round tray that held three cups of ice-cream on the center of our table. We thanked him as he took his seat, grabbing a cup each and digging right in.
"You won't believe this, Nadine wants to back out on our last dinner in school!" Natasha didn't hesitate to report me to her partner in love and crime.
"Are you even listening to her?" Kenneth said to Natasha, and then he looked me in the eye. "You're going, whether you like it or not."
Natasha smirked. I rolled my eyes at them and continued taking my ice-cream.
"I even suggested she invite William to go with," Natasha said, and Kenneth wiggled his eyebrows at me.
I laughed at the act. "You need to stop doing that. You look horrible."
"Whatever," he said.
"So you're inviting him or what?" Natasha stared at me, and Kenneth joined her in the staring contest. I slowly put my cup down from the creepy attention.
"I don't know... William isn't so good with crowd-"
"Just an alone time with bae, huh? I get it," Kenneth cut me off and I flushed, and then they both laughed at me.
"Fine, I'll go," I said and picked my cup to put an end to their torture.
"Yes!" Natasha balled a fist.
"Now that's what I'm talking about," Kenneth said, then scooped a spoon of his coconut flavor and put in his mouth.
"And you two better not have any excuse when the time for my graduation party comes," I warned.
