As the title may suggest, this is a book where Char and I will be ranting about the Pokemon games, anime, our top ten favorite things about Pokemon, and our top ten least favorite things about Pokemon, among other things.
The Alola region introduced to us lots of great Pokémon, but like every region there is always gonna be ones that aren't so great. Like the ones me and Ash will be talking about.
Just on a side note, we'll be basing our opinion off of stats, design, and sometimes just overall how irritating each Pokemon was. Now without further ado, let's get into the list.
Number 5: TapuFini
So TapuFini in general is a pretty cool Pokémon. It has pretty good stats and it's legendary. Also it has a pretty good design. So why is it on this list you may ask. Well, if you have tried to catching this thing, you probably know why.... Seriously, catching this thing is literal HELL. All because of one move, Aqua Ring. Who the hell thought of giving TapuFini Aqua Ring. And if you didn't know already, Aqua Ring surrounds the user with water, and each turn it heals the user a little. So yeah, Aqua Ring combined with it already having a low catch rate is just.... ugh......
4. Alolan Raticate
Who the hell thought this was a good design? Seriously, if you've seen Alolan Raticate (and I have no doubt you have), you know exactly what I mean. This...there's no way this thing is only 56.2 pounds, even if it IS a rat. I think those hideous excuses for cheeks weigh about a hundred pounds on their own.
Not only that, but its stats are absolute shit with its best being its special defense at 80 and the worst being its special attack at 40. And its overall stats come up to a grand total of...(drum roll, please)...413! Let's hear a big round of applause! Please note the sarcasm.
Number 3: Crobominable
Now for this one me and Ash are both gonna talk about it. First off let's take a look at its design.

Yeah, there isn't much that needs to be said about its design. The best thing that can be said is that the design at least matches its typing, unlike certain other Pokemon (*cough* Incineroar *cough*). But seriously, this is the best they could come up with? With this design, you wouldn't even need to battle. Any opponent would just be rendered unable to battle because they'd be too busy throwing up last week's breakfast.
It's stats are also kinda crap. It does have good attack but it's low defense and speed will most likely get it taken out before it can land a hit. Also, just, why did THIS have to be Crawbrawler's evolution. It could've been great but.... nope......
2. Alolan Persian
I'm not going to talk about how much I hate this Pokemon's design or the reasons why, because I think most should probably be able to guess the reasons for themselves simply by looking at it. Instead, I'm going to tell you a short story. When I first played through Sun and Moon, one of the first Pokemon I caught was an Alolan Meowth. Now at the time, I was pretty excited because I was curious to know how well these Alolan Pokemon would perform in battle. As the game progressed, however, I started getting annoyed because for some reason, my Meowth just wouldn't evolve. I finally decided to look up Alolan Meowth's evolution method, and that's when I found out it evolved by friendship. Okay, I thought, kind of annoying, but not really a big deal. So I continued playing, letting Meowth gain experience via the XP share since I usually relied mostly on Primarina.
Fast forward to somewhere on Poni Island, and Meowth finally evolved into Persian at level 48. Suddenly, this Pokemon was...still no better than its pre-evolved form. It couldn't seem to take a hit from anything. Even moves that shouldn't have been that effective would bring it down to less than two-thirds HP. When I finally bothered to look at its stats, I found the reason why. Alolan Persian's defense and special defense stats are absolute shit, at 60 and 65 respectively. Oh yeah, and its attack stat is 60 as well. It has pretty great speed at 115 and its special attack isn't too bad at 75, but that's where another problem comes in. Almost all of Alolan Persian's level up moves are physical, which isn't going to be helpful at all with its base attack as low as it is. Sure, it can learn Power Gem at level 32 and Dark Pulse at level 69, but you won't be getting any STAB out of Power Gem and I doubt you'll be sticking with this pile of crap until level 69.
Number 1: Bruxish
What. The. Actual. Fuck. Who at GameFreak thought that THIS, would be a good idea for an alolan Pokemon. You thought Crabominable had a bad design? Just look at Bruxish. Seriously, just looking at it makes me sick. It's design is so bad, it manages to almost make Delphox look decent. Bruxish over all is just... why....
