Chapter 23

Scarlett's P.O.V

The ride to the place was a long one, about 2 hours but I hoped it would be worth it. I was driving slowly. Looking at the flier once more I pulled into a driveway with an old gate. I hope these people aren't scams.

Stepping out of my car I shut the door quietly. Digging my hands into my pockets I looked around the abandoned area. There was a huge cellar like building ahead of me. The door had scratch marks on it. I heard loud bangs making me jump about ten feet into the air.

"Excuse me, can I help you?" a woman's voice came from behind me.

I turned on my heels and there was a woman about my height, maybe taller standing an arms length away from me.

"Um, yeah actually. I found a flier mentioning gun shooting or something." I said. The nervousness was clear in my voice.

"Yeah what about it?" she said, doing a quick flip of her short bangs.

She looked pretty edgy. Short jet black boy cut hair, brought out her features pretty well. She had brown eyes that were nothing special. They didn't sparkle and looked almost dull which told me she must be a bit overworked. It could've been the dark eyeliner that took away their glint. Her lips were coated with dark lipstick. The lower one had a ring piercing. Which brings me to her ears. They were pierced all around the outside.

It was kind of funny. She looked like the stereotypical biker chick. A black sleeve cut jacket hid her upper body. She had on skinny black leather pants and black shoes.

"Well I was wondering if someone could teach me." I said.

She made a funny face and raised her left eyebrow. "Shouldn't you be in school or something?" she asks. Looking away she walked towards the building holding some black wires.

"That's my business." I said quickly trying to sound bad-ass.

"Hah. What's your age kid?" she asked.

"17." I barely said as I watched her tie the wire from the gate to something loop like on the front of the building.

"You have a gun?" she asks still not looking at me.

"I might." I said looking away dramatically.

"Alright sorry kid I can't help you. One because your under eighteen. Two because you shouldn't even possess a gun and I'd get locked up for even knowing that you have one." she said.

I felt disappointment wash over me. She looked at me and began walking towards me.

"What's your reason?" she asks.

"To protect myself." I answered.

"That's your parents job." she laughed.

"Who do you think I'm protecting my self from?" I shot back.

Her facial expression looked a bit more focused and curious now "I don't know what kind of...situation your in," she worded cautiously. "I guess I can help you. Under 1 condition." she gave in.

I felt my face light up. "What? Tell me." I said a little too quickly.

"You don't tell anyone around here your age and I don't tell the cops you have a gun." she said.

"Deal." I said. It was simple enough.

"My name is Viper." she said extending her hand out to me.

"I'm Scarlett." I replied taking her hand and shaking it.

"Alright I'm a little busy today so let's start tomorrow 5-7. Bring your gun. Heres my number and if you can't reach me call my sister. Just explain our deal and she'll be on board." Viper said giving me 2 business cards.
