Chapter 9: Think twice Scarlett...

Chapter 9

Scarlett's POV

This morning I felt a little dizzy, but decided to go to school anyway. I had to make sure I stayed calm while driving to school in my brand new car. It was the BEST drive I ever had since...EVER! The seats were leather. The windows were tinted for privacy I assumed. It was a dark drive but that just made the feeling cooler. My dad said he made sure that there was voice command already built in. The buttons, knobs, radio and basically anything else that could be pressed, turned or switch were lit up by a blinding clear light. Okay it wasn't 'blinding', but it was amazingly clear.

I parked in the school parking lot next to a car that looked just like mine. The only difference was that there were no strips going along its roof. Turning off the radio I stepped out of my car. Everyone was staring at me already. That was new. Note the sarcasm. Did everyone already hear about my little misfortune? I knew somehow someway people would find out. It didn't matter anymore. I was here and I'm really thankful.

I put on my confident smile and walked through the group of kids standing around taking pictures of my car. Talk about obvious. A girl in 8 inch heels was glaring at me. Judging from her height in the heels I would say she's really short without them. I give props to her for being able to walk in them.

I looked at the boy next to her. He stared at me with his phone in his hand. Just for his sake I leaned on the back of my car and smiled right at his phone. His jaw dropped as I heard a click. That was going to be his wallpaper for sure I thought. I laughed outrageously in my head when I saw the girls face. Her left hand was carrying a purse and her other hand making a fist at her side. I really didn't want to fuss with her. She smacked the boys arm. He blinked like a billion times and gave her a 'WTF' look.

Laughing I continued to walk, about to pass them by. Miss Stilettos flipped her shoulder length caramel colored hair and stalked out in a different direction. I think the boy was her boyfriend. He followed her rolling his eyes.

I scanned the group of students, avoiding the ones staring at me, to look for Naiomi. No sign of her but I did spot Quincy sitting on the side of the school reading a book. Oh boy, what a nerd, it was so cute! Slightly laughing I walked to where he was sitting. I looked at him smiling. He didn't even notice I was there. He had the most serious face while reading away. This would seem strange to say but he looked amazingly good reading. It fit his personality. Smart, yet calm. I was getting tired of no reaction of me standing right in front of him.

"Book down, hands in the air now child!" I yelled. He jumped dropping his book beside him. I laughed loving the outcome of my mischievous plan.

"Scarlett you scared howl out of-" Quincy said looking up finally.

His eyes only went to my legs and stopped. Quincy's cheeked went a familiar shade up pink. Wait did he just say "scared the howl"? That's a new one.

"What's wrong Quincy?" I asked confused.

Was my outfit too much? I wore dark blue skinny jeans that showed the shapes of my legs, but they weren't skin tight. They were amazingly comfy and I loved how they flattered my hips. My shoes were just black 4 inch wedges. My heels were only wedges. Actual heels? Ha never! Uncomfortable to walk in and I always feel too tall, even if they aren't that long.
