Truth About Charlie

Katie:" So you think that someone is after me and my dad as well?"

Roger:" I don't know there could be. But I have had a different view from when Lewis died. "

Katie:" What is it? I promise I won't call it stupid."

Roger:" I think it was your dad. "

Katie:" Really?"

Roger:" Hear me out. When Lewis died. A week before that your dad and Lewis had a huge argument. It got physical. Blood was spilled. But obviously your mother took Lewis' side."

Katie:" What were they fighting over?"

Roger:" Lewis had caught your dad cheating with another women in a club where Lewis and his mates went all the time. Except Charlie told your mom that it was over Lewis getting too drunk. So Lewis and Charlie made up the day before Lewis was found dead. Even though they had called quits I still think that your dad wanted revenge."

Katie:" Was this when I was away with the school for a few days?"

Roger:" Yes you came back and the next day Lewis was dead. But your father was the only man of the house so your mom went and cried on his shoulder."

Katie:" So dad did that to Lewis?"

Roger:" Possibly. "

Katie:" So what about mom?"

Roger:" Well your mom. She wasn't getting any better and she came to me a lot to talk. And a week before your mom died she caught your dad cheating with another women like Lewis did. So instead of confronting him she went and cheated on him with me. The next day she told him that she had cheated on him with someone else. He didn't like it. I think your mother knew what was going to happen because she came to me the day before she died when she had made up with your dad."

Katie:" Wait so all because they both caught him cheating and did something he didn't like he killed them?"

Roger:" Possibly. But your mom came to mine and said. ' Roger if anything happens to me please whatever you do, take care of Katie for me. I might of figured something out. It's all in a letter that I have wrote to Katie, in case her time comes. Make sure she is safe. If he does try anything you take her from the house straight away.' That's when I told her I loved her and she made me promise to take care of you. I will never break that promise."

Katie:" You said something about a letter my mom wrote to me. I have that. In the diary Lewis brought me before I went away."

I got up and got the diary. I sat back down on my bed with it. I took the letter out and read it.

Katie:" Whoa. ' Dear my amazing and beautiful daughter Kathrine, If you are reading this then you probably have done something that your father didn't like. I must warn you dear. You must go to Roger and tell him the time has come. He will understand. This means you will be dead by next week. 

Baby girl, please you must leave immediately. He has killed you brother and he is going to kill me. If you are reading this then you will be next. I know you are very clever at this stuff as I looked through the folder of you and your brothers cases that you  solved. You are probably smarter than your dad. 

You probably are not going to listen to me in leaving. So if you intend on staying you have six days to get him where he belongs. You need to work with Roger and whoever else believes you. If you all work together then you can have a peaceful life with Roger. I will miss you and Roger so much. You need to trust Roger. He is your only hope in getting other army members to believe you and help you.

So will you promise me to either leave or to put your father where he belongs? You are our only hope to get justice for our family. My parents. He killed them too. And if I'm correct he will kill his own parents. He wants his own justice so he is killing his own family for the bad things he calls to him so he is killing them. And he has got away with it for so long. Now you can put a stop to it.

Roger:" Wow so your mom wants us to stop him."

Katie:" Oh trust me. I promise mom that I will put him where he belongs. We start at school tomorrow. I will get Ethan and Grayson involved so they can tell their dad. I will photocopy this so we have proof. Roger you have to get people to try and save his parents. I know I fucking hate them, they don't deserve to be killed. Play your part well. "

Roger:" One thing though. I am never leaving your side until he is out of sight."

Katie:" Okay but after next week he will be out of sight."

Roger:" Time to make your mama proud Kathrine Leondre McCarthy."

My phone dinged and I looked at the message.

Grayson:" Hey cutie! Sorry the way your dad acted. My family are home now. My dad put your dad to bed. Hope things are ok with you. You seemed really upset. I was going to come after you but Roger left after you. And I had fun tonight. Night cutie x."

I didn't answer. But a smile appeared on my face. It made Roger smile to see me smiling. 

I then got another message from an unknown user. I read it.

Unknown:" If you succeed next week. Then I will see you then but If you fail, blood is going to be spilled worse than before. It's all up to you now Kathrine. No pressure :)"

I showed Roger. He just nodded. He went and sat in the chair in the corner of my bedroom and i got into bed and drifted to sleep.
