I miss that childish part of me.
The part that would have said
"Hello!" So excitedly
To a stranger
Just because
I could.So this is a letter,
to my younger self.Dear young me,
As you grow up, you will start to notice that people will tell you how to behave and because they're older, you will listen to them.
Don't.
Do not listen to them.
When they tell you to be quiet, speak louder and speak the truth.
When they tell you to act more grown up, act even more your age because you are a child. And children have fun and play and laugh and smile and talk. So do that.
You are going to experience things no child should ever have to, but no one can change that. You've got to learn to accept what happens and let it go, because darling, you can't change what's going to happen and if you hang on you it, it's going to hurt. So, little me, smile. I'm telling you to smile because it's the best thing you can do, but you've got to keep doing it.
Take a listen to...
Smile Mikky Ekko
