"A party?" I asked, rolling my eyes. "This is your big idea?"

My mother shook her head at me. "Jimin, don't talk to your father that way."

"We can't allow these conspirators to believe they've shaken us." Father said. "We need to –"

" – show our authority and strength in times of great distress." I recited.  "Yes, yes, I know. I'm just saying that the last time we did that, all the windows were blown out of the cathedral."

"Even more reason to do it. If they think you're scared now, they'll always have the upper hand."

I sighed, tapping my fingers against the table.

You tap your fingers when you're nervous.

I stopped. Y/N should have been at this ridiculous family breakfast with me. Where did she go so early in the morning, anyways? I thought at least after last night, she'd stay a little longer with me. After the panic attack, I was exhausted. I needed her strength.

"You can't agree with this, can you, Mother?" I asked.

She frowned. "I don't like the idea of my babies in danger. On the other hand, your father hasn't been wrong before. What do you think, Sehun, dear?"

He cradled the jam knife in his hand, smiling calmly. "I think it's a perfect idea. "

His eyes met mine as he stabbed his knife into the butter. I narrowed my eyes at him.

"It's settled." Father said. "One week from now, we'll have a celebration. I'll invite some of the foreign dignitaries."

"Why bother? They don't even like me."

"That's the exact reason I need to invite them." He stopped talking to me and turned to Mother. "My darling, would you arrange the entertainment?"

Mother pouted. "I'm not sure I like the idea of planning a party when our son is in danger."

"Our boys will be safe, my dear. You'll have such a good time that you won't even notice. And naturally, you'll need a beautiful new dress."

Mother smirked. "Hardy enough to convince me."

"What if we invite that singer you like? What's his name? D.O?"

"Oh! What a wonderful idea!" Mother squealed, jumping to her feet. "I'll go shopping for the girls as well."

I shook my head. Typical.

When breakfast was over, I went to the church and sat in the pew. I wasn't fond of the place, but it was quiet anyhow.

Pastor Lee walked in, nearly dropping the candelabra. "Good God, I thought I was seeing a ghost."

"Not yet, Pastor."

"What are you doing here?" he asked, coming down the stairs to sit with me. "You haven't stepped foot in here since you were twelve."

"I've come more often than that."

"No. I remember very clearly. You prayed for a new iPad. You were confused on the difference between God and Santa Claus at the time."

"I'm here for advice now." I said.

The Pastor clutched his hand to his heart dramatically. "Should I get an exorcist?"
