"Sehun," I said grinning. "Did you have a good press conference?"
He raised an eyebrow at me, stepping towards his seat. There was no doubt in my mind that he was nervous with father, mother, and I staring at him from the other side of the breakfast table.
He tried to smooth out the creases in his face. "I think it was successful. How was calming the riots?"
I shrugged. "Something like that will take a little while to calm down. Now that we've gotten rid of the source of the issue, things should start clearing up. I just have to prove myself."
"It's that easy, is it?" Sehun said, sitting down in front of me.
"No, I don't expect it to be easy at all. But it will happen."
"It seems both my sons have a lot of ambition," Father said, tapping his index finger on the table while smiling. "I have to say that I'm pleased to see where you both are heading."
"You are?" Sehun and I asked at the same time.
He nodded. "Jimin, you are finally taking your role as king seriously. And Sehun, you're pursuing new horizons for our government."
I raised an eyebrow. "Say again?"
"Yes, I saw the conference about your ideas for a democracy." Father continued, ignoring me. "It's a fascinating notion."
"A future decided by the people is a good idea," Mother agreed.
"It is?" I asked.
Sehun beamed. "I knew you'd be supportive, Father."
"Is that why you never brought it up?"
Sehun shrank a bit. "It was something I had been meaning to speak with you about. I regret not discussing it with you before the conference."
Sure he did.
Father scratched his beard, nodding.. "Sometimes it can't be helped, I suppose. But I'm impressed with your forward thinking. I believe proper research is necessary for this endeavor. That's why I've arranged for you to study abroad for a few years."
"Yes, I - wait - what?"
All the color drained from Sehun's face. I tried to hide my smile behind my hand.
"If we want to create a strong democratic government, we need the right kind of insight." Father continued. "Since this was your vision, I'd like to put you at the head of the project."
Sehun coughed. "But -"
"You leave Friday."
"Friday?!"
Father nodded. "Of course you can come visit anytime, but you might have a tight schedule for the next few months. I've arranged for a few political advisors to escort you and teach you every thing you need to know. A wonderful opportunity, isn't it?"
Sehun sat there, blinking. "Y...yes, Father."
Father sneaked a glance at me and winked.
"Now," he said joyfully, "Let's talk about other things. Anyone want some tea?"

I stood in the circular driveway, watching our staff load Sehun's bags into the car. I almost offered to help them.
"Stop smiling, will you?" Sehun muttered.
I didn't.
"Aren't you excited to pursue your new political vision?"
