Chapter 5

After we finished eating we went to the apartment and changed. I sighed as we exited the door and walked towards Central Park.

I mean if we're being honest here I'm being handed off to strangers, that are young teenage boys, that I work with. I mean not too crazy but still.

We started walking down when I saw the group of boys. I started turning around when I felt someone pull the sleeve of my sweater and drag me along. We stopped and I turned to face the boys.

It wasn't all of them it was Ben, Josh, Sky, DeMarius, and Chaz. I awkwardly waved to them. "Hey guys." Uncle Jeff waved and began walking away.... wait... he's walking away. No! Don't leave me..... and he's gone. I sighed and walked over to the boys. "So where do you wanna go Evalina?" Chaz asked. "I'm not sure."

I let them decide and they picked to go shopping. yay.... I followed behind them not to close but not to far away.

Ben's P.O.V.

We saw Evalina and Jeff walking towards. When Evalina noticed us we noticed her turn around and try to walk the other way but saw Jeff drag her by the sleeve of her sweater. I laughed. They finally arrived. Jeff waved and began walking away. "Hey guys." She said. "So where do you wanna go Evalina?" Chaz asked her. "I'm not sure." We decided to go shopping then out for dinner. Stephanie said she'd meet up with us midway.

"So, Eva what do you like to do?" I asked. I noticed she kept a two feet distance between her and us. She chuckled. "My friend Ana calls me that." with a hint of familiarity. She snapped out of her daze and looked back at us. "I draw, I do photography, I play piano, and I like to read."

I nodded. Another awkward silence. We eventually found and outdoor mall. There was an art store and before we could say anything we saw a blur run past us into the store.

I looked back and it turned out to be Eva. We all laughed and followed her. Inside it looked like she was jumping off the walls running from aisle to aisle. We all looked at her in surprise.

"I thought she was shy?" Sky said laughing. "Maybe she's just in her element or is looking for something." Josh suggested. We saw her come back with her arms full of art supplies. She ran up to the cashier's.

She came back a minute later with her bags. "So what'd you get" Chaz asked. "A new digital art pen, acrylic paints, a new sketch pad." She said listing the things off.

"Why do you need a digital art pen?" Evalina smirked. "Just a project plus my old one is breaking." I wonder...

That's when Josh's phone rang. He picked it up. Eva excused herself and left. Josh hung up and Eva came back within four minutes.

"Steph said she'd meet us at Barns and Nobles." Eva just nodded and continued to stare at her phone. Just then we got a notification.

It was a picture of all of us doing jump minus Josh. How did she recognize us. Not only that she tagged us.

What? I was about to ask the boys when we walked into Barnes and Nobles. We all split up. Chaz and Eva went to look at books while the rest of us where looking for Stephanie.

3rd Person P.O.V.

Evalina was looking in the musicals section when she noticed Stephanie walk in. Evalina walked over and back the the boys and greeted Stephanie. Chaz was already back. "So you guys wanna go out to eat?" They all agreed. Since they were at an outlet mall everyone went somewhere different. Ben, Josh, and DeMarius went to Chick-fil-a, Sky, Stephanie and Chaz went to Chipotle, and Evalina went to Starbucks and got a chai tea.

They all walked back and we sat at a table. "Is that all you're gonna eat?" Ben asked looking at Evalina. "Yeah, I have to work late tonight so I'm gonna go get something later.

They all nodded only partially believing her. "So where are you from?" Stephanie asked to break the silence. "I was born in Italy to American parents and we lived there for five years then we moved to Canada for two years then after that we moved to Maryland. What about you?" Evalina responded.

"Well, I'm from Texas." Stephanie said and all the other boys answered as well. "So... Eva, are you living with Jeff or your family?" Josh asked. Everyone noticed Evalina visually tense at the mention of her family. She gave out a stiff response "They're back in Philadelphia. I came down to visit and live with my uncle for the next two months but now I'm touring with you guys." 

They all continued with friendly conversation and with the occasional pun from sky and the others giving him a look to tell him it wasn't funny. "Hey, Eva.  Why do you have your arms all bound up?" Chaz asked out of curiosity. It was bound all the way up to her fingers. "Umm... it's uh, it's a long story." She said.  They looked at her as if waiting for her to continue when she checked the time. "Oh, sorry guys, I got to go. Shoot.... I have to do that tonight don't I.." She said the last part queitly but the rest of them heard her. 

Evalina ran out leaving the group with confused expressions. "What do you think she meant?" Ben asked. The rest of them shrugged. "Is she always this shy?" Stephanie asked. "According to Jeff and from what we've seen today, yes." DeMarius responded.
