Hey hey hey! This is another song fic! It is inspired by insertpunhere0's Prinxiety one shot based on "Take Me or Leave Me." This is a Prinxiety one shot as well and it is based on a couple songs from Rent. It's basically a Rent Au with "Finale A" and "Your Eyes." This is fanfiction and the lyrics (which were written by Jonathan Larson) will be double quoted and italicized. Also, Finale A will be condensed.

"'December 24, 10 pm, eastern standard time. Time to see what we have time to see.'" Thomas had finished the film he'd been working on and was screening it in the apartment.

"'First shot Roman.'" He looked towards his roommate, who on the screen was busy working on some new song.
"'I found my song.'" Roman whispered, remembering that day.
"'If he could just find Virgil.'" Thomas said.
"'I tried. You know I tried.'" Roman sighed sadly, missing the person he'd grown so close with.

As if on cue, there was shouting coming from behind the door.

"Thomas! Roman! It's Virgil! He's been living on the streets! He was begging to come here!" Patton's voice rang through the room as Roman and Thomas rushed to open the door. Patton and Logan were holding a practically unconscious Virgil.

"'We need some heat!'" Roman exclaimed, stifling a sob.

"'I'm shivering.'" Virgil mumbled almost incoherently.

"'I'm afraid he needs more than heat!" Patton whispered. "'Logan will call for a doctor.'"

"'Hello? 911? I'm on Hold!'" Logan yelled.

As all of this was happening, Roman and Thomas rushed Virgil over to a couch.

"Roman." Virgil whispered, "'I should tell you I love you...'"

This would be his last chance before he lost Virgil.
"'Hold on. There's something you should hear. It isn't much but it took all year.'"

Roman looked at Virgil, who was using his last bits of energy to listen.

"'Your eyes.'" Roman began to sing "'As we said our goodbyes can't get them out of my mind and I find I can't hide from your eyes. The ones that took me by surprise the night you came into my life. When there's moonlight, I see your eyes.'"

He held Virgil's hand. Virgil weakly grasped Roman's.

"'How'd I let you slip away? When I'm longing so to hold you. Now I'd die for one more day. Because there's something I should've told you. Yes! There's something I should've told you.'" As he said this, the feeling of tears wet Roman's eyes. He felt his voice shake as he sang.

"'When I look into your eyes, why does distance make us wise? You were the song all along! And before the song dies, I should tell you, I have always loved you. You can see it in my eyes.'"

As Roman finished that line, he felt Virgil's grasp on his hand loosen. Out of shock, he pulled his hand away, causing Virgil's to fall to his side, limply. He was gone.
"'VIRGIL!'"
