(Still Mackenzea's POV)
"Why won't you talk to me?" He sighed and looked at me, worry showing all over his face. "I'm sorry, sweetie." He hugged me and rubbed my back gently. I leaned into him and kissed his neck. His scent was driving me crazy. He smiled like chocolate and strawberries. I bit into his neck lightly, playing with the tender skin. He moaned softly and I smiled. I bit down harder and began to drink from him.He didn't try to stop me, he just enjoyed it and moaned louder. Just then, Emma walked in, seeing Zach half transformed into a wolf and me drinking from him deeply.
"What the? What are you??"Her face was unbelieveably pale. Her eyes were as wide as saucers. I didn't have any idea what to do. She pulled a sword from the wall and aimed it at the both of us. "Someone better give me some answers or I will kill the both of you.Or maybe I will kill one while the other watches." I let go of his neck to stare at her. Zach transformed fully and growled loudly at her. I stared at her, trying to read her thoughts. She moved closer, the blade of the sword glinting in the light. The blade was made of silver. The tip of the blade was inches from Zach. I would not let her hurt him. I tried to move closer to her, but she moved closer to Zach to try and taunt me. "I thougth you loved him?" Emma sneered."I did. Then he denied me for you. So now I want to end the both of you."
**Zach's POV**
I didn't want to hurt Emma. But I knew that she would kill Zea if I didn't do something. I didn't want to lose the love of my life. Emma kept moving closer and closer with a slver sword that could kill me. I know I had to save her. "Zach! Don't do it! I don't want you to die! I love you!" I felt horrible for needing to hurt Emma. But, I wanted a life with Zea. I lunged forward, knocking the deadly weapon out of her hands. She screamed as my claws dug into her skin. I bit her hard, causing severe damage to her veins. She instantly bled to death. I felt no gratification in her death. But, I knew that it would haunt me forever.
I ran over and hugged Zea gently, kissing her hair. I loved her a lot and I would never come that close to losing her ever again. "Are you okay, sweetie?" She nodded and leaned her head against my chest. "I never want to lose you. You mean everything to me." She smiled and kissed me deeply. I had to do something with her body. So, I carried it out back and burned it. The mess was horrible and took an entire day to clean it up. "Zach?" I sighed and looked up. Zea was covered in a towel and she looked really scared. "What's going to happen to us now?" I was confused. "I'm not sure, sweetie. We will just have to wait and see." She nodded and dried herself off before she got dressed. I absolutely had no idea what was gonig to happen. Emma never talkeda bout friends or family. She always kept those a secret from me. I didn't want Zea to be scared. She didn't have any reason to feel that way because I would protect her. I looked into her eyes and smled. She was worth protecting. She meant more to me than my next breath. I couldn't stand to think of anyone hurting her.
**Mackenzea's POV**
He smiled at me, washing all my fear away. I knew that nothing bad would happen to me. I sighed softly and stretched my body. My stomach growled unhappily as I realized that I hadn't eaten for a few days. Zach smled and pulled me towards the kitchen where he made me a rare steak with chocolate mousse' for desert. It was a very romantic. He picked me up and carried me outside. The moon was full and shining brightly upon us.. He wrapped his arm around my waist, relaxing completely.
He smiled at me, making my heart soar. He kissed me gently and rubbed my stomach appreciatively. "Relax, sweetie. Nothing is going to happen." I smiled at his confidence. I forgot about what could happen and just enjoyed the moment. We were a tangle of limbs, skin upon skin. I ran my hand gently over his biceps, exploring the feel of his muscles. Sweat glistened off of his skin as he watched me. He grinned and kissed the length of my neck, teasing me gently. The night ended in a twist of bed sheets and a few unbearable moans.
I woke up the next morning, feeling completely at ease. Nothing seemed wrong with my world at all. When I opened my eyes, Zach was no longer laying beside me. It worried me a little that I could not find him. I turned on the television and changed the channel to the news. I was relaxed until I saw Emma's photo appear on the screen. I gasped and stared at it. "Zach?" I called out softly, hoping that he was just in the kitchen making breakfast. But, I recieved no answer. "ZACH!" There was a loud thud coming from the store and he appeared around the corner. "What's wrong, sweetie?"
I showed him the news. He stumbled backwards until his legs hit the edge of the bed and he sat down. "What are we going to do?" Zach sighed softly and looked at me. There was no emotion showing in his eyes. "I'm not sure." My body began to shake with fear. Tears were beginning to fill my eyes. "Calm down, Zea. It's going to be oay." I shook my head. "How can i? We killed someone and they are looking for her. It won't be long before they find us."
**Zach's POV**
"Freaking out is not going to help us any. I will figure out something." She nodded and looked away from me. I walked over to her and hugged her gently. She buried her face into my chest and began to relax a little. I stroked her hair gently, trying to ease her into sleep. She closed her eyes, falling deep into sleep. I sighed and laid there with her asleep in my arms. My life was finally at peace. I slowly closed my eyes and fell asleep. When I woke up, Zea was in the shower. I stretched and stood up, running my hand through my hair.
She stepped out of the bathroom looking absolutely gorgeous. I smiled and walked closer to her. She wrapped her arms around my neck and smiled. "Hey, baby." I smiled back at her and kissed her forehead." Hi, darling. You look wonderful. How are you feeling today?" She grinned and hugged me tighter. "I feel very good today. Thank you." I laughed and pulled her towards the window. She tensed slightly and moved away from me. "What's wrong, sweetie?" She looked at me, fear showing in her eyes.
"The sun could kill me." I felt horrible for trying to get her near the window. "I'm sorry. I knew you were a vampire, but I forgot. I'm really sorry." She shook her head and moved across the room. "It's fine." I felt like a jerk for not remembering about it. It could have killed her. We both just stood there shocked when someone knocked on the door.Zea moved into the bathroom so I could open the door. "Hello?" Standing before me was a guy dressed in a suit and tie. "Hi there. My name is Detective Staples. Are you Zach Lawrence?" I nodded and allowed him to enter the house. "I've been assigned to Emma Wayler's case. I have information saying that she worked here for several years. She reported here for work but never went home. "
I nodded, trying to think of something to say. "I'm sorry to hear that. She did show up for work. But, then she left. I'm sorry, that's all the information I have." The detective nodded in relief. That was a big bullet to dodge. What was going to happen now? We needed to be really careful about what we did from now on. I checked the backyard and where we burned the body. I checked again and nothing was left, not even ashes. I checked the store for any sign of her. Thank god there were none. I sighed and leaned against the kitchen wall. This was not going to be easy.
