Chapter 20

**Zach's POV**

While Zea was showering, I walked to Alex, hoping to figure things out. "Hey, is everything okay?" I sighed and hoped that he had some answers. "No. Zea had an episode yesterday. She tried to attack me. She tried to bite me." Alex's eyebrows furrowed together in confusion. "that's odd. Hmm....Since she had the baby, her hormones are still a little crazy. It may take a few days before they settle back to normal. I suggest you watch her for a few days and don't do anything to provoke what happened. So, just becareful."

I nodded and walked back towards the house. When I walked inside, she was sitting on the edge of the bed, holding Anna. I smiled and sat down beside her. She was a great mom. I sighed soflty and rubbed her back gently. She smiled at me and looked back down at Anna. She was sleeping peacefully in her arms. I would do anything to keep my family safe. I kissed her forehead and we put Anna to bed. I hugged Zea against my chest and stroked her hair. She was amazing.

We laid down on our comfortable queen size bed and relaxed. I couldn't live without them. They made me very happy and I never wanted to lose them. I wrapped my arms around her waist and closed my eyes, falling into the peaceful abyss. When I woke up, Zea was walking around the house. She was moving all of our furniture around. I got out of bed and tried to stop her. Which was a big mistake because she bit my arm hard, causing it to bleed profusely. I whimpered softly and put pressure on the wound, trying to stop the bleeding. Zea watched me, afraid of me trying to touch her. Everytime I tried to hug her, she would flinch away. I sighed and grabbed the first aid kit. I cleaned the wound and put some fresh gauze on it and wrapped it up tightly. It hurt to move, but the wound wouldn't heal if it wasn't wrapped properly.

**Mackenzea's POV**

I can't believe that I had hurt him. I felt horrible. He was my everythin. I sobbed softly into my pillow, wallowing in self pity. I curled up into a ball and laid there crying. Zach wanted to console me, but I wouldn't let him near me. He did not need to be any closer to a monster like me. I exhaled slowly and wiped away my tears. Zach was watching me like a hawk. "I'm sorry, sweetie. I never meant to hurt you. It was unintentional." He nodded and looked over at the doorway. Alex was leaning against the door. "Everything okay in here? What happened to your arm?" I sighed and looked at Zach.

He seemed to be in a lot of pain. "She bit me hard. Managed to make me bleed." He nodded and made me some tea. I accepted the cup without hesitation. "It's so crazy that I don't know what to do. There has to be a way to stop the nonsense." Alex nodded, keeping a close eye on me while I sipped my tea. Alex seemed completely lost on how to fix our situation. My insides were churning uncomfortably. Maybe I should just run away. But what about Anna? I couldn't leave her there, but I couldn't take her with me and risk hurting her. I sighed and watched Zach talking to Alex. "I understand that its frustrating, but there isn't much we can do." Zach seemed very confused and angry. I curled up into a ball on the bed and waited for them to figure it out.

**Zach's POV**

I left Zea and Alex alone in our room and went to check on Anna. She was laying in her crib staring at the mobile hanging above her. I smiled down at her and exhaled slowly. I wish I could figure out what was wrong with Zea and how to fix it. I loved her very much and I was terrified of losing her. She was the center of my universe. I exhaled slowly and cuddled Anna to my chest. My beautiful daughter was giggling softly as I bounced her in my arms.

I looked into her eyes and she had the magical glint in her eyes. I walked back into our room while carrying our baby. Zea was sitting there, eyes wide with fear. "What are you doing? It's unsafe! Take her out of here!" I ignored his pleas and continued straight towrads Zea. I handed Zea the baby and waited. Anna nuzzled up to her mother and a glow began to radiate from the both of them. "What the heck is that?What is going on?"

I smiled at Alex and took Anna away from Zea. Her eyes turned red and she tried to attack me. I gave her the baby and she calmed down and became loving again. Alex nodded, understanding finally what was going on. Zea was only a monster when it came to protecting her baby. Her motherly instincts were making her overly protective and mean. She wasn't herself when she had attacked me. She ws just being a mom. I smiled at Zea and she hugged me tightly. I kissed her gently and Alex relaxed. Our problem was solved. The episodes would eventually cease and there wouldn't be an issue at all.
