*Mackenzea's POV*
I couldn't believe that Marcus had followed us all the way here. I was so scared that I didn't know what to do. He had no reason to stalk us. I was married to Zach and I have a family with him. So, why take the chance and travel all that way? I exhaled slowly and tried to relax. "Calm down, honey. I found the perfect house for us yesterday. We can move in today if you want?" My eyes widened in surprise. We had a house! "I would love to move in today. That sounds great!"
He smiled and we began to pack up all of our clothes and stuff around the room. Before we knew it, we were pulling into the driveway of our new home. We unloaded the car into the house and began to unpack the boxes. After that, we relaxed and enjoyed the sound of the house around us. Anna seemed extremely happy. I walked into the kitchen and began to cook dinner. I felt really safe in my fantastic home. When supper was ready, Zach grabbed Anna and sat her down at the table.
We began to eat quietly, not speaking a word to each other. It was oddly silent which scared me a little. I finished eating and put my plate in the sink. I was glad to be away from my brother and the control he tried to force on me. I sat down on the couch and looked over at Zach. He seemed completely immersed in what Anna was doing. She was shoving her food away, as if she wasn't hungry, which she was. Something wasn't right. "Anna, sweetie, why aren't you eating your food?" She looked away from me, acting like she was mad at me. Zach looked at me, worry covering his entire face. I exhaled slowly and went to the fridge. I pulled out a water bottle filled with blood and sat it down in front of her. She stared at it, licking her lips. I opened it and handed it to her. She guzzled the bottle like it was nothing.
She had never had blood before. Maybe this was our clue to what her species was. I sighed and looked at Zach. His eyes were as big as cups. He was just as shocked as I was. Anna wiped her mouth on her napkin and went to her room to play. "Did you see that?" Zach nodded numbly. "Do you think that her species is developing?" He looked at me, fear showing through his eyes. Our little girl was growing up too fast for our taste, but there wasn't anything we could do about it. From the way she was acting, it seemed like she had more vampire than werewolf.
I exhaled slowly and sat down. I wondered whether or not she was more vampire than werewolf. Zach sat down next to me and wrapped his arms around me. "If she is a vampire, then you have a lot to teach her." I looked at him, worried about my daughter. "What if she ends up a mix of both? Craving blood but transforms and is allergic to sunlight?" He squeezed my hand gnetly. "Whatever happens, we can handle it."
He was right and I knew that we would be able to control what was thrown our way. The next couple of days went by in blurrs. Anna was having worse cravings of blood and would no longer eat regular food. It was becoming odder and odder. It was making me feel very stressed. Then one day, she wouldn't get out of bed. She just laid there, curled up on her bed. "Sweetie? What's the matter?" She didn't answer me. I was really beginning to worry. I called Zach into the room. "What's wrong, Zea?" I exhaled slowly, fighting back the tears. "I'm worried about Annabeth. She won't get out of bed or talk to me at all."
He walked closer and gently touched Anna's face. "She's burning up. She might be getting ready to change for the first time." I nodded, feeling very frightened. "Anna?" He picked her up and looked into her eyes. She started to go crazy. She began to grow hair everywhere. Her fingernails became elongatted claws. She came at me, snarling loudly as if I was her food. I hissed at her and she kept charging at me. Zach transformed within two seconds and knocked her away from me.
She bared her teeth at him and stared him down. "Anna, calm down. I know it's very confusing, but I love you and I am not going to hurt you. We are your parents. " She stood up from her attack stance and waited for Zach to do something. The first thing he did was take her hunting. They were gone for five hours before they came home.
From then on, things became easier to handle. Anna grew up at an alarming rate that practically scared the crap out of me. But, she was turning out to be a beautiful young lady. Zach was being a very good father to her and helping her adjust to her heritage. Our life was long, happy and fruitful. We were together, and nothing could ever stop that. The day ended in a colorful sunset that was the most gorgeous thing I had every seen. We ran through the woods together, hunting as a pack, loving our life as it is.
Zach and I were two different people, with two different species. And we created something that would change the world for the better. We had created a revolutionary species and Anna would be remembered forever as she lived her life as a werepire, a mix breed of vampire and werewolf. And there was no telling what would happen next. This was our life and it was as abnormal as you could get. But, that was the way it had to be. Now and forever, we would be together.
