*Mackenzea's POV*

I wonder who the new neighbors were. Maybe they were vamps, that needed a house in a secluded area for protection? I sighed softly and finished off my glass of blood. Anna was napping in her play pen when I walked past her into the living room. I changed the channel to the movie channel and began to watch a movie called The Orphanage. I curled up on the couch as the movie started. I wrapped a blanket around myself, and was instantly sucked into the movie.

I was half-way through the movie when someone busted open the front door. I screamed loudly and grabbed Anna. I stood there, glued to the seat by my ultimate fear. The guy stood there watching my every move. I wasn't sure if I should run or try to attack him. Either way, I needed to protect Anna. I exhaled slowly and waited for him to make a move.

"Zea?" I blinked and took a step closer to him. "Why did you break down the door?" He sighed. "The lock wouldn't open. Why did you change the lock? I thought that you loved me?" I sighed softly, and stepped away from Marcus. "I don't love you, Marcus, I never did. You need to leave now. This is not your house." He inched himself closer, almost cornering me. I found the door to my room and slammed it in his face. I inhaled and exhaled slowly, trying to calm down. I needed to think of a way to escape.

I found the window and opened it. I set Anna down and climbed out the window. Then I grabbed Anna and pulled her outside. I ran towards Alex, hoping and praying that he was home. When I burst through the front door, he had this really shocked look on his face. "What's wrong, Zea? What happened?" Tears were pouring down my face and I was really scared. "Marcus broke into the house and Zach is not home. He left hours ago to go hunting. I don't know what to do. He wouldn't leave me alone. I told him to leave and he wouldn't." Alex nodded and took Anna from me. I sat down on the couch while he fed Anna some cookies.

I could see Marcus running towards us. My muscles tensed, fear collecting in the pit of my stomach. He stood up and watched him approach the house. "Don't worry, I won't let him hurt you two." I nodded and waited to see what he was going to do. I was afraid, but I knew that my brother would save me. Marcus pounded on the door, looking very angry. "Alex! Let me in!!!I just want to talk to her. I won't hurt her, I promise. Please just let me speak with her. I need to." Alex shook his head and waited. "I know you too well. You are just trying to trick me. I'm not falling for it."

All of a sudden, I saw Zach come sprinting out of nowhere and tackled Marcus to the ground. He was beating the crap out of him. All I could see was blood spurting everywhere. Once Zach was done, Marcus was in a coma and probably would never wake up. He opened the door and crushed me against his chest. Tears were pouring down my face as security settled around me. I was safe again and so was my family.
