"Now that..." Matilda said as she took a sip of juice. "...was delicious."
"I second that!" Ell said as she bit into a thin pancake. "My compliments to the chef!"
Ell liked those...pancakes, Tori thought.
She likes anything in that category, like waffles, French toast, et cetera. Also, that's a blin, not a pancake.
Tori grumbled under her breath as the old man came back with some mints.
"I hope everything was enjoyable?"
"Very much so." Tori said as she reached for her arm compartment.
"The meal has already been charged to your credit card, ma'am."
Tori stopped.
"Well that's convenient." She replied. "Thanks."
"Pazhalooysta."
As the old man walked away, Matilda stood up from the table.
"So," Matilda said with glee. "What are we doing today?"
The old man stopped.
"There is festival going on in town!" He said, matching Matilda's glee.
"Ooh!"
"Let's go see it then." Tori said.
"You'll need some transport," the old man said. "So may I suggest the Lada?"
"I think we can walk..."
"The fairground is forty minute drive."
"Uh, well..."
"Lada is now $25 a day."
"Wait, wasn't it $20 last time?"
"Nyet, you must have heard wrong."
Tori sighed.
"Fine."
She begrudgingly gave the old man the credit card.
"Uh, Tori?" Ell said. "You know that's not yours..."
"I know, Ell..."
"So why not go on a spending spree?"
Tori was about to respond before she processed the response.
"Excuse me?"
"I mean, it's not everyday you get an all expense paid trip, now do you?"
Ell flashed a mischievous smile as Tori sat speechless.
Looks like she also likes a little theft, Tori thought.
Oh please. She's way beyond your league, what with your credit card fraud.
