"Sir?" Johnson said, shaking his boss' arm.
Hansen took the book off of his head, revealing his still groggy eyes.
"This better be important..."
"Tolkiet is fifteen minutes away. And with the ten minute drive to downtown, it's less than thirty before we may intervene the Red Leader."
Hansen took a deep breath before sitting up. As he rose, he didn't notice that there was another bed on top of his and, when he did start sitting up, he bumped his head on the wood separator.
"Goddamned Russian-built bull-"
"Is the G-Man awake?" Vlad whispered.
Johnson nodded as Hansen rubbed the bump.
"I need a coffee..." Hansen said, still groggy from the nap.
"On it, sir." Johnson said before taking off down the train car.
"So he is glorified bus boy?" Vlad said.
"Not even close to being worth glory." Hansen said. "But yeah, he's a good assistant...at times."
"You really look down on him, don't you?"
"Hey, the boss needs to assert dominance over his employees."
"He is pretty smart, so I'd be careful..."
"Nonsense." Hansen scoffed. "He's weak."
"In body, yes. But in mind..."
"Shut it, Russki. Your working under me, so act like it."
Vlad quieted down as Johnson returned with a tray.
"I got three coffees and some scones."
Vlad rubbed his hands together.
"Well that sounds go-"
"And the jam?" Hansen interrupted.
"Didn't have any, sir."
"Just that one?"
"That's all of what I know, sir."
"Then go check the other cars. I need something to savor besides the bread."
"Yes...sir."
Johnson sighed as he ran towards the door of the car. Hansen and Vlad ducked into their cabin.
"You are too harsh on him..." Vlad said critically.
"Training him for this job."
"Well, he's great on that computer of his."
"He's becoming a field agent, not some office jockey."
"And how, may I ask, is fetching jam a field agent task?"
"It's like finding a target, or a bomb..."
"It seems more like finding jam to me..."
"Shut up."
A minute later, Johnson returned with two strawberry jam packets, looking very exhausted.
"Had to ask from a waitress..."
"Good."
Johnson and Vlad took a scone while Hansen poured a little bit of whiskey into his cup before stirring it.
"Dammit..." Hansen muttered. "No cream."
He stood up and exited the cabin.
"Do you like your job, John?" Vlad said as soon as Hansen left.
