Chapter 13

The taxi to the airport went through a long route, the flight was in 20 minutes now. Helena looked out through the car's window and the scene kept on replaying in her head. She blushed, and surprisingly felt no regret for what happened. It was mysterious how an hour ago she wanted to forget him and the very next moment they kissed, it just blew her mind. There was no remorse, but she worried about confronting Jin, she was worried about her and Taehyung's future now that she had kissed him back. there's no way I can forget him now, I can't deny the fact that I have fallen for him too... The car stopped at the airport terminal and her navigator led her to a turn towards the private jet track.

The breeze blew through her hair, pulling them out of her jacket collar and her grown fringes flipped back. The jet was aligned, ready for the take off. She met the IPO escorts and got in the jet.

"Nice to see you ma'am" her junior, agent Park Shen greeted her just as she took her seat.

"Nice to see you too." She smiled back

The younger guy sat in front of her and opened a file.

"These are your further objectives, sent by the organisation. I'll be accompanying you to the arrest unit. I've heard you've shown great courage though you were wounded. How are you now ma'am?"

"I'm alright. Thank you."

Shen nodded and looked out through the window. The engines roared and the jet glided through the runway. The junior agent looked uneasy.

"Are you okay?" Helena asked, worried about his sudden restlessness.

"Yes... there's something more that I remembered, I had to tell you."

"what is it?"

The flight took off and Shen took long breathes.

"What is it?" Helena asked again.

"Ma'am, we lost an agent."

Helena stopped breathing for a moment. What did you just say? She blinked and knitted her eye brows. It took her immense efforts to gather her bearings and speak

"Who was it?"

"Cory Duello, who was undercover as Chang Ji Reu for Exo." He managed to spit out the words, "attacked by an assailant, similar to the one who attacked you, she was brave in her last moments."

"This is so sudden"

The junior agent nodded and looked down. Helena rested her head back and closed her eyes... Cory, one of the most cheerful people she's met. She worked for BigBang and later was transferred as the spy for Exo. She was a huge supporter of BTS too.

Helena's head throbbed with memories that streamed in and she vigorously rubbed her eyes, trying to contain the burning tears inside them. Being a spy was no less than walking on a blade, anything may happen anytime, you're always on the go. This was the third death she was hearing of... she felt numb, as if she was getting used to it. I might just be the next one... A tear rolled down her face and she shut her eyes again.
