This isn't really a poem but I think it has a bit of a poetic feel to it so I'm going to put it here anyway. My perceptive of this keeps changing as it all just came out and so I'm not really sure what the whole meaning behind this is. Anyway I hope you enjoy! X

Glass

Glass.
A lying reflection that makes us feel bad.
It's something we look into everyday, hoping to look a little prettier.
But we don't.
You're about to turn away but then you stop.
Because suddenly the face in the mirror smiles.
Her thin lips growing into a grin.
You've finally found out how to be happy with who you are.
You've finally forced yourself to look as a from the flaws.
A pointy nose.
Huge, red spots.
And shapeless eyebrows that look invisible.
Instead you notice the things you love.
Your bright, blue eyes, as clear as sapphires.
Freckles that dot your nose happily.
Hair that rests just below your shoulders, brown, blonde, curly, straight.
You smile at the reflection of yourself.
Because smiling makes yourself feel pretty.
And tells you that you shouldn't care about what people think.
They are who they are.
You are you.
Everyone is different - everyone's unique.
You fix the cracked pieces of glass.
That you smashed earlier.
Maybe it made you feel stronger.
Whatever it is,
You are pretty,
You are loved and you are certainly
Not invisible.
Glass.
A fake reflection of yourself.
But only if you choose it to be.
All you have to do is smile.
