Water

11 5 1

I wish I was water,
To flow like a river,
To reach high like a wave,
A lake that won't quiver.

I wish I was stronger,
For water never breaks.
It lies like a photo,
And memories, it makes.

It laps over pebbles,
It never grows apart,
But forced back together,
Yet it still has a heart.

Water sits there proudly,
It shimmers in the sun.
When a stone gets chucked in,
It looks like lots of fun.

It's ripples are endless,
They are unbreakable,
I wish I was tougher,
To be unstoppable.

Water is touchable,
And yet, it still won't shake.
It swims past your fingers,
Feeling tough like a rake.

Riverbanks are flooded,
But water doesn't care.
It minds its own business,
Because that's only fair.

I wish I was smoother,
Although water is quick.
It runs through streams gently,
And takes care of the stick.

It breaks through barriers,
Yet it dances like stars,
I wish I was water,
So I could tear down bars.

I wish I was water,
To flow like a river,
To reach high like a wave,
A lake that won't quiver.
