Memories

A dream that lies
within your head,
A dream that fades
And is slowly dead.

It's a distant dream,
No longer there.
Or a dream that stays,
Because you care.

But some are true.
Some dreams lie.
But memories
Can never say goodbye.

Memories are like pictures,
Painted within your brain.
They slip inside your body,
But never cause a pain.

They always tell the truth,
As you were there to see,
The memory get painted,
You watched it come to be.

Some feel you with happiness,
Others make you sad.
But they all provide that sense of warmth,
That cannot make you mad.

Memories are visions,
That never go away,
They're not always in your head
But they'll haunt you every day.

Memories are paintings,
That live inside your heart.
Each brush stroke, a smile,
To a memory that won't part.
