Part dedicated to Dev for being truly random at times. Dipper's point of view.

(The cave)

I looked to Ford wondering what he would suggest. I felt sick in my stomach at the fact Wendy had fallen through, Mabel was still somehow optimistic. After a minute Ford raised his finger to show he was about to speak. Just as he was about to do so one of the larger objects lying around the base of the bubble; a tennis ball seemingly jumped up and sprang into the bubble. The bubble squirmed, throbbed through a myriad of colours then a woodpecker excited the bubble with a slight squishing sound. The bird tumbled to the floor, steadied itself then flew out of the cave. Mabel watched this in awe. Ford with some more thought finally spoke.

"Judging from what I've just seen this would suggest that when one object or organism enters the bubble another of equal mass leaves the it. This would explain the small items littered around the base, and also how the bird was able to leave."

"So it's like every action has an opposite reaction." Mabel exclaimed.

"Oh, I'm sure it's a vastly different mechanic to Newton's three laws more along the lines of conservation of mass in different dimensions..." He glanced at Mabel. "But sure why not, we'll go with that for now." He looked at the ash on the ground. "Mabel I've got some vacuum seals in my bag, place one over this dirt. I expect there is some level of quantum entanglement between the swapped objects, hence why our tennis ball so dramatically left. If the dirt isn't kept close by or scatters sufficiently, Wendy may not be able to leave." I stood up and withdrew my journal.

"I'm going to go get her. It's my fault she's there." I said, I needed to get her out, she needed me.

Ford replied."No Dipper, we're going to go get her. We've got everything we need here for a full rescue mission. Mabel, when we enter objects of similar mass will undoubtedly spill out. Guard them with your life. If we don't come out within the hour go get Stan, these paths and caves can be dangerous at night. On no account follow us inside. "

"You got it Grunkle, even I can keep track of 3 piles of mud." Mabel replied. Ford raised just one eyebrow and shrugged.

We worked assembling the gear required. We plastered our bodies with Ford's equipment and a couple of light weapons. Some food rations and a first aid kit were put in Ford's backpack and I held my journal tightly. The time had come to go into the unknown.

"Be safe bro-bro." Mabel said as she hugged me and she winked. " Go be Wendy's knight in shining armour." I smiled, she still had her sense of humour though I knew she was just trying to settle my nerves. Ford hugged Mabel also and told her to remember his instructions and with a final wave we walked into the bubble with a plop.

Lights flashed before my eyes. Greens, reds and blues separately, then altogether in a white hot glare. I shielded my eyes and then I knew for certain this bubble was a very different beast to the ones I'd encountered previously. Then we were falling.

Through a maelstrom of random objects, some hitting me across the face. I was buffeted by a pocket watch, a teddy bear and much of the water that was previously in the cave. A newspaper covered my face obscuring my vision. It was dated 1999 b.c. Then it was clear and we were falling without hindrance. I spotted Ford falling some distance to my left, and in terror the ground rushing up to meet us.

Poof, I bounced up again, and again, and again before finally coming to rest. Sitting I could see Ford buried in a pile of  green foam about 50 metres away. I'd come to rest on a hill seemingly comprised of nothing but marshmallows. I surveyed the rest of the surroundings. It was astonishing and I audibly gasped. The ground appeared to bend upwards away from us on all sides with the colours vastly different to any normal ecosystem. About a kilometre overhead the bubble sat with various debris swirling round it at an astonishing rate. Ford walked over with the L.O.W 1.3 in his hands, the device flashed and beeped at an ever more alarming rate until a small geyser of smoke erupted from one of the side ports. Ford threw the device away.

Ford spoke "I'll agree with the locator of weirdness this place is crazy." he helped me to my feet. We took a moment to continue examining our current location. The area directly around us seemed to consist of fields of various colours, most of these were white in colour with some a brilliant red with others a deep blue and stranger still a neon pink. In the distance a huge white expanse glistened like a sea from the light of the overhead bubble. In many of the fields small and large animals appeared to move. Above, a fish floated backwards through the sky.

"So what now, where is she?" I asked Ford.

"I...I..." Ford started. "I don't know."
