The Asian glanced around the group, not even noticing the newest group member. "Yes! She's okay. They all are, well, except Merle."
Merle. Daryl's brother. Opal already knew from Daryl's personality that he wouldn't be glad that Merle was assumably dead.
Then, a cube shaped truck rolled up, following the young man's actions, minus the blaring horn. Everyone got out of the truck and ran to their families. Amy and her sister finally reunited.
A Mexican man and his family hugged. Opal saw Lori pull Carl away, probably to take his mind off his deceased father. Opal glanced back to the truck, seeing a man approach the group. Everyone followed her gaze, seeing the now newest group member.
"DAD!" Carl screamed, running out of his mother's grip and running to the man. Maybe his dad wasn't so dead after all, see as how he was standing there, alive.
A smile found its way onto Opal's face, she couldn't help but be happy at Carl and Lori finding the person who meant most to them.
The family fell to the ground, hugging.
Opal looked to see everyone elses reactions and everyone was surprised. She could see the happiness that they all shared the same happiness.
When she looked to Shane, though, she saw a different look. Disappointment maybe. From what Lori told her, Shane and Rick were best friends. But Shane's face did not look like how a person's face would look seeing their bestfriend was alive. If Opal saw her best friend standing in front of her alive she'd be crying her eyes out from shock.
Hours later they were all sitting around the campfire, the night time surrounding everything around them. Rick was currently telling everyone of his first experience in the dead world so far.
Everything was interrupted by Ed, who had thrown a log into his fire that was separated from the rest of the group. The only ones at the other fire were Ed, Carol and Sophia. Opal had invited the girls to sit by everyone else, but they had declined. Opal could tell that Carol was too scared to see what Ed would do if they sat away from him.
Shane sighed and stood, stomping over to the other family of three, "Would you mind taking that log out, Ed?" Anger was evident in Shane's voice.
"It's cold man," was Ed's response.
'Really?' Opal thought, 'if it's so damn cold, get a jacket.' They young woman was infuriated.
The men argued for a second, until Ed finally settled. He looked to Carol, "alright, you do it then."
Opal's jaw gaped. Her anger rose. She needed to tell Ed that he was wrong, she stood, but Amy pulled her back down, "no, just let them handle it."
Opal shook her head, but once she stood again, Carol had already pulled out the log. she gritted her teeth and wandered off to Daryl's tent, missing out on the conversation about Merle.
Merle had been locked on a roof in Atlanta. Morales, the mexican man, had dropped the key. The whole situation worried Opal. A new group, and they're already so unreliable that they locked an asset to the group on a roof that walkers could get to him through.
She sighed and got into the tent. She got in her sleeping bag and tried to get comfortable. It was almost impossible to do so. She was practically sleeping on the cold ground below her. There was only two thin layers protecting her from the grass.
"Hello?"
Opal sat up, seeing Rick standing in the entrance.
"Hey. Rick, right?" Opal asked. She didn't need to ask though. She already knew from Lori.
He nodded, "Lori told me that you're new here too. When'd you get here?"
Opal sighed, "earlier this morning."
Rick nodded, "what kind of person is Daryl? Is he any like his brother?"
The young woman shrugged, "I've known him for like half a day. But he does seem nice from what I've heard about Merle."
Rick nodded, "has he got a temper?"
"Why are you asking me? Can't you ask somebody who knows him?" Opal asked.
"Because they're biased. They just think he follows his brother everywhere." Rick told.
Opal understood where they man was coming from, "he's nice. Quiet though. I believe that he's considerate."
Rick spoke before she was done, "how is he considerate?"
Opal sighed. It was one of her pet peeves of hers to be interrupted, "he moved my bed closer to his bed because he didn't want me too close to Merle."
Rick nodded, glad to get more info on Merle too. IF he was THAT bad of a guy, he wasn't sure whether or not to actually bring him back. He did have to though, or else Merle's death would be on his shoulders. He would have to carry the guilt of a man's death on his shoulders. Rick didn't know if he could handle that, "thanks, Opal."
Opal nodded as Rick left the tent, she just assumed that Lori tells Rick her name, since she never told him herself.
She layed back down, even more tired than she was before. She didn't enjoy being interrogated by the ex-officer. Opal shut her eyes and let go, finally getting comfortable nad falling asleep in the very sweaty tent.
