Opal woke up at sun down, she sat up and was glad to get the few hours of sleep. She came out of the tent and walked to the middle, where everyone was sitting on logs. She sat down next to Shane, since that was the only seat left. Shane glanced at the sleepy girl and smiled.
"So what's for dinner?" Opal asked, looking to Lori and Carol, who usually prepared breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
"Fish!" Lori exclaimed, "Amy and Andrea caught a bunch earlier while you were sleeping."
Opal nodded, she loved fish. When she was younger, she used to be peskitarian, which was where you wouldn't eat any meat except fish, but once she met Jeremy that went straight out the window. Jeremy ate meat with every single meal. Bacon with breakfast, ham with lunch and chicken or steak with dinner.
"Do you like fish, Opal?" Carl asked, a hopeful smile on his face.
"Yes! Very much. I don't know what I would do without fish."
Carl smiled, he was warming up to Opal and it seemed like his life was just going in the correct direction. His dad was back and alive, he made a new friend. His parents weren't fighting currently. The only bad thing that was happening in his world was that there was dead people walking around.
The group all sat in a comfortable silence.
Until Amy stood.
"What're you doing?" Andrea asked.
"I gotta use the bathroom," Amy said, "can't someone have some privacy around here?"
The group chuckled as Amy stepped into the RV. And once again, there was silence.
"Come on, do we not have any toilet paper?" Amy complained, Opal glanced at the young woman and laughed. Almost instantly as Opal looked back at the burning fire there was a scream.
Opal's hand flew to her pocket, where the knife Daryl gave her was. She looked around, staring at Amy, who had two walkers biting in to her arm and neck. There were dozens of walkers invading camp.
Opal stood and grabbed the knife from her pocket. She frantically glanced at Shane, who saw her knife. He didn't care that she had the weapon, currently, he was glad. People started to slaughter the roamers and Opal had started to reach up and stab them too.
The whole camp was in havoc and it made everything worse when there were more gunfire than there were guns. Was there another group attacking? Opal sighed, glad to see that the extra gunfire was just Rick and Daryl's Atlanta group coming back.
Daryl quickly jogged up to Opal and nodded, seeing that she was alright. They stood back to back, Daryl firing a rifle at the monsters and Opal stabbing her way through.
The gun fire ceased and there was almost nothing left in the camp.
"Is everyone okay?" Rick yelled.
