Castiel Imagine: All I Want
- Requested by anonymous -
So I was listening to All I Want by Kodaline when I wrote this so it's a little angsty.
The weight of everything that had happened to you lately was beginning to tear you apart, piece by fragile piece. Pretty soon nothing would be left but an empty, soulless shell. Sam and Dean had their own demons to battle with, both mental and physical that is, so talking to either one seemed kind of impossible.
For the third day in a row you came back to the motel and flung the warn rucksack onto the floor. Stretching out on the bed, a loud yawn escaped your weary lips and you tried to block out the constant screaming pain in your temple. One thing that did help the torture subside was music, when you put your headphones in the whole world seemed distorted and like an illusion. Music was just a quick escape from reality , even if it was only for a short while.
"Y/N?" Castiel appeared at the foot of the bed, his head cocked at an angle in slight confusion. It took you a few moments to register his presence and to unplug your headphones. "I'm sorry Cas, how long have you been there?" you mumbled apologetically and patted the edge of the bed, inviting him to sit. "Does not matter Y/N." Castiel was staring at you, a strange expression laced his features. Was it pity? Or uncertainty?
A long breathless silence passed over the room, and you forced yourself to clear your throat. "Hey Cas, what did you want?" Castiel let out a soft sigh and reached out to take your hand, a sweet gesture although he did it rather awkwardly, sitting on your earphones as he leaned across the bed. "I have noticed, by the way you have been acting recently that you are not happy. Whenever I think about you being anything less than okay, I get an unpleasant sensation in my stomach." He frowned, and a line of discontent crossed his forehead. "I want to help." his tone becoming almost desperate. "I'm just being weak and stupid that's all, I'll be fine. Promise." Your voice must have been anything but steady, as Castiel just shook his head. "I believe when humans are sad, they embrace one another."
A few seconds later, Cas had pulled you to him and clumsily wrapped his arms around your waist. "I want to be here for you Y/N. I do not think you realise, all the times you have cried yourself to sleep and thrown various objects at the wall, that I have heard and seen you." You felt a soft lips press against your cheek and soothing circles being drawn lazily on your back. When had you started crying? The grip Castiel had around your torso tightened and he rocked you gently back and forth, murmuring words of comfort. "Please Y/N, no more suffering in silence. Just ask and I will come to you."
Your eyes began to flicker shut and your breathing became a little shallower, "Would you stay with me for a while longer?" A blush crept across your tear stained cheeks and Castiel brushed a strand of stray hair from your face, "Of course." He sat rather ungainly, balanced on the edge of the bedsheets with his arms still tight around you. It was as if he was afraid to let go, like you would just disappear into the stuffy motel room's atmosphere.
Setting you down gently on the bed he once again wrapped his arms around you, this time with more care. "Goodnight Y/N." You wriggled around to face him, barely holding back a gasp as you realised how close your faces were. Without a second thought, you pressed your lips to his and after a few seconds pulled away with a rueful expression. Now it was Castiel's turn to blush as he fumbled to kiss you back, bumping his nose with yours. You had never seen him this nervous and it made you want to break out in a goofy grin.
For the first time in a while, you slept soundly without being disturbed by the darkness of your past. After all, you had your angel now.
