"Rise and shine boys!" You grinned, tongue poking out between your teeth in a large smile as you pulled back the motel room curtains. This outburst was met with several incoherent groans and a multitude of different colour pillows being thrown in your direction. "We were supposed to check out an hour ago c'mon, big hunt today." Your sing song voice bounced around the thin walls of the room, it was just loud enough to be heard by the approaching cleaner who bypassed your room, now knowing its inhabitants had not left.Once everyone was up and you were on the road, in a short amount of time you were back at the bunker. You were the first into the living room, flicking on a side lamp and nearly hitting Castiel with it as he appeared suddenly with a loud whoosh of wings. "Cas, seriously. Could you at least warn me when you do that?" He didn't have chance to answer as both Winchesters walked in, looking at you and Castiel with a hint of amusement. You simply ignored the glances and tucked a strand of long hair behind your ear, waiting to hear what they had to say. "Y/N... You're not coming on the hunt." Dean said after a few moments of awkward silence. "What?" You spat out the word in disbelief, "Er, yes I am. You guys need me."
"It's too dangerous Y/N, you haven't hunted this thing before. It's just too risky." Sam added, his shoulders lifting and falling in a small shrug.
"We need you here anyway. Someone needs to look after him, before he drinks himself to death." Dean gestured over to Castiel who had perched himself on the arm of a wooden chair and was staring intently at a set of wooden drawers, evidently not wanting to take part in the discussion. "Bullshit." You grumbled underneath your breath, "There's no way I-"
"Y/N please. Just this once, look we'll call if we need any help." Sam looked up, his puppy eyes boring into you. "Gahhh fine. But if you come back and Cas is locked in the storage cupboard that's your fault."Once you had waved goodbye to the boys and told them to 'Go get 'em' you walked back inside and rolled your eyes at the sight of Cas laying on the floor, his trench coat all ruffled and dirty. He was just laid there, staring at the ceiling. "Weirdo." You smirked, nudging his leg with your shoe. "Cas, don't ignore me." After a few seconds more of silence you started to get annoyed, "Oh my... You're so childish? Y'know that?"
"Better than being like you." You barely caught the words Castiel spoke as he said them so quietly but nevertheless you heard them and it hurt. You knew deep down you had feelings for the angel, but no way were you going to admit it. That's just how you were, stubborn till the end. Castiel must have registered the hurt look crossing your face and he sat up, looking a little sheepish. "Y/N... I did not mean it. Pl-"
"Shut it Cas."
Now it was your turn to ignore him, you turned sharply on your heel and stormed off to the kitchen. Already counting down the minutes until the Winchesters returned. It was more than half an hour before you returned to the living room, placing food for two down on the table. All you wanted to do was get along with Castiel, but whenever you were alone it always escalated into some kind of argument. "Castiel get your feathery butt down here... I need you." The last part of your speech was inaudible but you hoped that he may have heard it.
Castiel appeared opposite you, a solitary sadness gracing his eyes. The look changed however when you smiled up at him, indicating that all was forgiven. He strode towards you, catching you by surprise and you gasped as he wrapped his arms around you, enveloping you in a tight, warm embrace. This display of affection made your stomach tighten and your breath hitch. This had never happened before with him. "For the record, Y/N I need you too. More than you realise." He spoke softly, loosening the hug and trailing his hand to the small of your back, enclosing the little space between you. "Cas I-" he cut you off by crashing his lips down on yours, pushing you up against the table, knocking over the plate of salad you'd laid out earlier. You couldn't help but let out a small moan as the kiss became deeper and your brain turned to mush as the sensation of Castiel overtook everything. He broke away a minute later, leaving you panting for breath, his hair was ruffled and his pupils dilated, you did nothing but blush under his heated gaze. "I have wanted to do that for a long time." Castiel admitted with a small smile, you nodded in agreement still not able to comprehend what the hell had just happened. "I'm in love with you." That snapped you out of your daze. "What? Cas what did you just say?"
"I said I'm in love with you Y/N. You all think I do not understand these types of emotion but I do. I think I've loved you ever since I first saw you."
