Teen!Dean x Reader

/ this contains major fluff I guess oops

The bus journey home from school had always been something you'd come to hate, even though you only got it maybe twice a week, it still made you wince internally every time you sat down and waited for the half an hour of torture to end.

You took a seat near the very back of the bus, reached into your bag to bring out some tedious textbook you had to read for tomorrow, slipping on your headphones and letting the first bars of 'Kashmir' flood your ears. You didn't even look up when you felt someone sit beside you.

A few seconds later you glanced at the person next to you, it turns out he was already looking at you, and a furious pink blush laced your features as you heard him chuckle softly.
"Zepp are awesome, right?" If there ever needed to be an example of someone falling in love with a voice, this would be it. You nodded in reply, smiling shyly.
"I'm Dean by the way, it's nice to meet someone who appreciates real music."
"Y/N.... I haven't seen you around school before, are you new?"
"Yeah. Me and my brother Sammy moved here a few days ago, I don't think we'll be staying long though."

You and Dean sat making small talk until you had to get up for your stop, he seemed, at first glance like the kind of guy who would fit in anywhere, and attract all the popular girls with no effort needed, but when you actually started talking to him you could see there was way more to him than that. His eyes didn't seem as bright up close, and his smile was most definitely forced.

You saw him a couple of times over the next few days, and each time he had a clingy blonde on his arm, it was stupid but you couldn't help feel a little jealous. The one time he didn't have a girl with him however was when he picked up his little brother outside the gates, from what you saw, those two shared an unbreakable bond that only an idiot would question. So when you saw Sam being the target of the schools local knuckleheads for about the fifth time you decided it had got to stop.

You ran over to Sam, who was surprisingly tall for his age but nonetheless he was still small enough to be the object of these bullies taunts. When the younger boys saw you approaching, your face as dark as thunder, they immediately dismantled, mumbling under their breaths. You grabbed one by the hoodie and stooped down to his level so you could look directly into his eyes. "You come near him again and you'll regret it. I promise you. It's not big and it's not clever so go and do something useful with your lives." Each word of yours was said with deliberate coldness and authority. The boy nodded, suddenly looking rather pale. Releasing his hoodie you looked after then as the gang scattered in different directions. Turning back to Sam you gave him a warm smile, he was still sat on the floor, staring at the ground like it was the only thing around to look at.
"If they give you anymore trouble you tell me, or your brother, okay Sam?" You knelt next to him, noticing he held a ripped textbook in his hand you clicked your tongue, "I'll get you another of those, don't worry. Hey look I'm sure your brother will be here soon."
Sam finally looked up at you, his bottom lip sticking out as you shot him another reassuring smile.
"Thanks... They just wouldn't leave me alone... Shoulda told Dean.." That was all you could get from the quiet mumbles coming from his mouth.
"Sammy?" You heard Dean's panicked voice and several loud footsteps before he appeared beside you both.
"What did you do to Sam?" His tone was full of fire as you stood up to face him, but before you could answer Sam cut in.
"No, no Dean it's okay. She helped me. Just some stupid boys..." Dean relaxed visibly, muttering a sorry to you.
"Dad's here Sam, you go and I'll catch up with you."
Sam nodded and picked up his belongings, you and Dean watched him until he got into his father's car, then Dean turned to you and scratched the back of his head nervously.
"I- thank you for helping Sammy... I've been too busy messing around with girls I shouldn't-"
"Dean it's okay. You had no idea, Sam didn't tell you anything, how were you supposed to know?"
Dean nodded, then shifted closer to you, pulling you into warm hug which given the cold weather you were secretly grateful for. "Thanks again Y/N."
Oh wow, he'd remembered your name...
Dean pulled away from the hug slightly to look at you, a small smile crept onto your face as you glanced up at him. When his lips pressed against your cheek it felt more genuine than the hurried thanks he had given a few minutes before, he tilted your chin and looked into your eyes before pressing his lips to yours. You couldn't help making a small noise of surprise at the back of your throat before relaxing against his lips, placing a hand gently on the back of his neck, you melted into the kiss. Okay, forget being in love with his voice, his lips...
"Y/N?" His voice was dashed with a hint of amusement as you snapped out of your daze, smiling at him awkwardly, your cheeks tinted red.
"Huh- yeah?"
"Do you want to go grab something to eat?"
"Pie?" You asked hopefully. His eyes seemed to light up at your request and he nodded with considerable enthusiasm, taking your hand and winking.
