TremaineTremaine was stoically watching Laive while she was finishing up her opening set.
"So you know, I just had to end with this song....It means so much to me. And I'm glad that some of you have come to love it as much as I do." Laive smiled as her hair blew behind her from the anchored fan, and the red lights illuminated the stage.
The massive crowd was going crazy.
"You know what it's called?" She smiled as she turned to the crowd and put her hand by her ear.
Screams erupted with muffled answers to her question.
"Y'all know me so well...We ending with Ships."
The band was silent in contrast to the loud screaming as they waited on Laive to signal them in.
"Sing it with me real quick..." Laive begin to sing the lyrics acapella, "You must be..."
The crowd responded in unison, "Cultivating"
"If you think.."
"That I'll be here just waiting"
"This is my favorite part right here," She spoke as she held the mic to the crowd.
"So if you not gone tell it all, just leave me alone. And if you gone flaunt it like you can do what you want, and leave me here...."
"Y'all better sing!" Laive smirked and pointed her mic back to the crowd.
"I'm not on the wave...of you not being honest."
Laive smiled, "What you tell him ladies?"
"You not gone lead me astray...While you got plenty options"
"Cause what?!" Laive signaled, and the band begin to play. The crowd was singing at the top of their lungs.
"Cause I'll be sailing ships, baaaaby"
Laive sung along as she put her hand held back on the mic stand.
"I'll be moving on...while you wading
I'll be sailing ships...since you hesitating
You not gone tie me down while you run away"
Laive was demanding the stage like a veteran, and although Tremaine was so proud and happy for her, no one could tell by his cool exterior on the right side of the stage.
"The fact that she has crowd participation like this at her first show is crazy!" Mackson was so excited. "Laive 'bout to be a real problem."
Laive finished her last song and briefly walked passed Tremaine as his entire team and their families congratulated L on her first performance.
Tremaine watched Laive thank them while she returned every hug and smile heading backstage. He carefully trailed her to her dressing room, and when he was sure no one saw him, he knocked on Laive's latched door.
She opened the door with a beaming smile on her face. As soon as L noticed who he was, she held her gaze to the ground and her smile disappeared.
"Hey."
"Hi." Laive responded.
The energy between them was filled with awkwardness and tension. Tremaine was still angry with her, and Laive was still hurt.
