Tremaine
"Wait...What? What the fuck you just say?"
Tremaine refused to believe Laive as she slid from the counter top.
"I haven't heard from Lehr. He hasn't answered my phone calls or texts since the post on Instagram.."
So this nigga using her for a come up?
"Yo! He was just on air saying all type of shit! Why you ain't said nothing?!"
"Simmer down."
"Baby girl, you don't let nobody get away with shit like that."
"Nobody believed me any way! You see what happened, you didn't even believe me."
"I did believe you baby...I was just mad. That's different. "
Laive side eyed him as she turned back on the stove burners, "It's not!"
"When I see this nigga...It's-"
"It's nothing. He's not worth it. You're not going to do anything. And I don't think me addressing the fact that I'm single or not matters."
"Fuck all that, I'm talking about us. You don't tell me shit that's going on with you! Why you ain't tell me? I woulda handled that."
"It's not like I could talk to your stupid ass about it! And why do I have to tell you anything when you keep walking around here pushing half-truths out the ass every time I ask you about something. And on top of that, you were too busy trying to punish me for something I couldn't even fucking control!"
"I ain't gone be too many more stupids gotdamn. We wouldn't even be talking 'bout this shit if you never put ya self in that position. We wouldn't even be here right now!"
"Oh fuck you! You were out here doing you, telling me not to worry about what you were doing, and then expecting me to just sit around and wait on you to get your shit together? Miss me with the fuckery Tremaine."
"It wasn't like I ain't tell you. You knew that I was trying to-"
"So what! It doesn't matter that you were trying. It was unfair to ask me to wait around on you."
"I know. I know it was Laive. I'm not saying it wasn't," Tremaine casually leaned against the island. "I'm just saying that you were forcing yourself to move on because you felt like you shouldn't wait on me. It makes sense...but that's not what you really wanted to do. That's all I'm saying."
Carefully adding the hot water to the mixing bowl, Laive begin to stir. "I should really just be done with this. I'm sick of the same cycle with you. If I mess up again then what?"
"Don't start this sh-"
"You gone disrespect me? Clown me?" Laive cracked an egg, folded the yolk into the cornmeal, and begin to check the temperature of the cooking oil. "Treat me like some hoe?"
Tremaine slid his palm down his face. He thought they weren't going to argue anymore. It was getting old between the two of them, always fucking fighting and arguing. Laive wasn't wrong, and he didn't think he was either. There had to be a way that they could figure things out without always blowing up at each other.
"All because I hurt you right?"
"Laive come here. Let me-"
L kept her back to him while she fumbled around the top cabinets and stood on her toes, "I should be with a man like that...That's a man everyone would love to have."
He couldn't stand when she was so fucking sarcastic.
"I'm sorry Laive. I'll apologize a million times if I have to."
