Switched at the Choosing Ceremony

Chapter 9: Tris A.K.A Six

(A.N: This is when the characters: Kate, Jen, Anna, Cassandra, etc. are 16 yrs old.)

        Today is when we administer the apptitude test. Four, Tori, and I are administering it. As we begin, I start with a girl named Jessica. I attatch the wires to her temples and give her the drink. As I watch, she chooses cheese, gives it to the dog, tells the man she knows the person, and that's it. It took about 30 min for her.

+++ After a lot of people+++

Now a girl names Kate walkes in. She sits on the chair as I place the wires on her temples. She drinks the liquid.

Kate's POV:

        After drinking the clear liquid. Everything. Went. Dark. I stand in a large room with no way out. Two baskets appear before me, one with cheese and the other with a knife. "Choose!" A voice says from the background. I walk to the table and pick up the cheese. A door appears and as I walk towards it, thinking it is a way out, a dog pounces out. I hold out the cheese and the dog eats it and dissapears. I am on a bus, A man walks in seeing no seats available. I slowly but surely stand up and offer the man my seat. He smiles and thanks me. Another man holding a picture of someone I vaguely know sits infront of me. Then it hits me. The image shots Tim. The man asks me if I know him and I say no. He then gets up and says,"IF YOU DID YOU COULD HAVE SAVED ME!!!" I then feel an urge in my stomach to say, "I do know him." It all goes away. I sit in the chair and the administraitor, Six I think looks at me and says,"You got the outcomes of 2 different factions, Erudite, or Amity." Erudite or Amity? I think to myself. Then I say,

"Why isn't Dauntless in there?"

"You selected the cheese not the knife," She replies.

Well, that doesn't mean I HAVE to choose Erudite or Amity does it? I ask myself.

I walk out of the room and the next people go.

        I sit in bed pondering about why, why Dauntless wasn't there. I feel so Dauntless, with acing the bullet and arrow shooting, winning all the combat fights. I don't know which faction to choose. The thing I am most worried about is, AMITY. Why was it on there when I am Dauntless-born. After thinking about that one question, sleep eventually takes over and I drift off to dreamworld.
