I guess it's just me and Kate. Alone in the compound we stand without any of our former friends. Alone. Apart. As Kate and I watch the water rage against the rocks, we think about how the compound will be so much different than before. How we will be alone, different, separated. We walk towards the training room and begin by picking up the bows laid on the table along with a few arrows. Kate and I stand with bows in hand. Aimed, and fired. Kate as usual hits the dead center and I hit close. Still, I can't shake off that couple who embraced Kate in their arms at the choosing ceremony. Who were they? Why were they there? How do they know Kate. I decide to consult Kate's brother, Tim.

When I find Tim, I tell him all about what happened at the choosing ceremony. He only tells me Kate doesn't know the truth and she must find out on her own. I reply just by nodding my head and walk away. Is Kate from Amity? No, she is so good at target class. I reach the sleeping area and lay on my bed. Before I can get into deep thought, I fall asleep.

Kate's POV:
I hear an announcement through the speakers as. I walk through the hallways. "Attention faction member! This is the Candor and Erudite leaders, we would like to announce our alliance to defeat Amity. As some of you may see, Amity is just a small place packed with careless hippies. We believe we should eliminate that faction for the better. We do not know what Dauntless or Abnegation say in this decision. We hope you see the truth in our decision." I standing the hallway, frozen. I don't know why but I can't move.

I run to the leader of Dauntless, Emma. I will consult her. When I reach her office, I knock on the door. "Come in!" A female voice yells. I come in and see Emma sitting behind her desk. I take a seat. "Are you going to allot Erudite and Candor to attack Amity?" I ask without question. She stops what she's doing and sits sturdy in her chair. "I don't know. What do you think?" "I think that they are wrong about Amity being just an extra faction not needed for anything. They grow food, care for people and keep the violence and kindness balanced." "I see," she says. "You have convinced me to put ly decision into deeper thought," she says after a long moment of silence. "You may go now," she says. Leaving me to leave the room with no difficulty.
